Does RE regret quitting?
1 draw and 3 wins since he quit, I bet he is now feeling that he threw the towel in too early.
And I wonder if that abuse his wife took was a factor in his decision?

Re: Does RE regret quitting?
I would say not. Just watched his post match interview with Dulcet Dave and toward the end Ross gets a bit emotional talking about the season the lead up to it and turning round the form over the past few weeks.
He will make a great manager in a few years time but he knows now is not his time but he has done a great job for the club and we can all appreciate just how difficult it's been.

Re: Does RE regret quitting?
I doubt it. He is going back to what he wants to do and can do that on a real high, a success. He has left behind a team on the up and can be proud of what he has done.

Re: Does RE regret quitting?
Any proof of this abuse? Not seen Ross even mention it, which is strange.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 9:06 pm 1 draw and 3 wins since he quit, I bet he is now feeling that he threw the towel in too early.

It’s evident that since he made his announcement and the pressure came off him, he has been a totally different person. So have the players.
Clearly the right call for all parties.

Ross talked about the abuse of his wife on one of the podcasts.
Definitely the right decision to go back to being assistant/coach

Re: Does RE regret quitting?
Results seem to have picked up now the pressure of the role has been lifted from him. The overly defensive negative play has gone and it seems the clear-the-air meeting that resulted in Harrold playing has yielded results.
Ross seems to be in the position Fletcher talks about from his past in his appointment interview. Too early to be a manager and not ready for it but maybe in 5-10 years with a calmer head and more confidence. Personally think RE is far better suited to the assistant role working alongside someone with that "leader" personality though.

Re: Does RE regret quitting?
When you have a high profile position, you get flack from the public. Now, not many would say Leyton Orient are high profile, but there are quite few fans out the, some active some are somewhat dormant. Whenever you've got a lot of people, there can be a few nasty ones our there. Some who think because they spend a few quid a year on the club, they have carte blanche to say what they want. So someone placed right in the public eye for the first time can really be taken by surprise. Some people can shrug off this and say "it goes with the territory ". Many say it is just not worth the hassle.

Difficult times forgotten about, adjustment to a new league .
Just straight into
WE'RE GETTING RELEGATED IF IT DOESNT CHANGE TOMORROW TYPES .
Mostly led by Byways 1 & the usual big shots in the know

Re: Does RE regret quitting?
Don’t think it’s a timing thing. Just think it’s not for him. The improvement these last 3-4 games only backs that up.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 11:05 pm Results seem to have picked up now the pressure of the role has been lifted from him. Re: Does RE regret quitting?
Where have I said he’s no good?
The pressure has been lifted from his shoulders after he announced he was stepping down. It’s visible in every interview he’s since given.
Maybe if we’d played this differently it could have turned out ok. Say we’d said he was going to fill in as caretaker manager for a few games and we were going to start a leisurely recruitment process. Without any pressure, he might have performed as he has done since stepping down.

Re: Does RE regret quitting?
I hope he supports our new head coach to the best of his abilities, as our backroom team last season was good, and like he has said himself he is more comfortable being a number 2.
I wish him well and hope he helps to drive us towards league 1

Re: Does RE regret quitting?
I personally doubt if he has any regrets just because we've had an upturn in form.
Or that he decided to stand down because of the results that preceded his decision.
Maybe he just decided that being number 1 is not for him.
I've never met the man but from how he has conducted himself as a part of our football club I am glad he is with us.
His obvious love for Leyton Orient is always there for all to see and Carl Fletcher has inherited a real asset, which I hope he makes full use of
Thanks a million Ross. You stepped up fella.
