Re: Carl Fletcher- Good or Bad appointment?
Am I allowed to wait until:
a) he is actually appointed
b) he has had a fair number of games in which to form an opinion - let's say, until the end of the season, possibly 2 seasons.
Or is that being a little too sensible?

Re: Carl Fletcher- Good or Bad appointment?
One of the worst things about modern football is people feeling the need to instantly react to a transfer or appointment. Players signed with a good reputation are celebrated like a success just because they have signed a contract, but they might turn out to be absolutely useless- look at Alexis Sanchez at United, as an obvious example.
The same can be true the other way around.

Terrible appointment ( if it happens)
Not managed for 5 or 6 yrs
Only 24% win ratio

People should get a chance, but that doesnt stop me from having an opinion now.Red_Army wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 3:23 pm One of the worst things about modern football is people feeling the need to instantly react to a transfer or appointment. Re: Carl Fletcher- Good or Bad appointment?
I have to interject here for a minute. He's being asked if he thinks it a good or bad appointment. His 'opinion' is, it's a bad appointment. What's wrong with that? Nothing to do with giving him a chance.Thor wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 3:31 pmMate hes not even been appointed and you are slating him. Re: Carl Fletcher- Good or Bad appointment?
Never seen so many stupid comments on a message board in my life. Judging a man before his even been appointed. Saying we need an experienced manager? Wasn't Steve Davies "experienced". Any manager with a good win ratio and a experienced cv will not be looking to manage a league 2 club.
I trust Kent and Nigel's judgment much more than I do a key board warrior with no job. up the os

Maybe you are not quite understanding. We're not 'judging' a man. We're giving an opinion as to whether we 'think' it's a good appointment or not.

Re: Carl Fletcher- Good or Bad appointment?
I don't think you understand. Just as it's ok for people to have an opinion it's ok to comment on that opinion based on information given such as "24% win rate" or "not managed for 5 years"Chief crazy horse wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 4:06 pm Maybe you are not quite understanding. I would like to comment on the opinion about having an opinion on the opinion. Not now. Perhaps later.
