Now like someone else said Karl Fletcher of Harchester Utd he’s an absolute legend and would surely fire us all the way to the premier league!

I won't 'big up' anyone Thor. The proof will be the results they obtain, whether they are a known name or not is not that relevant in the long term. All I am saying is whoever it is, give them a chance and judge them by the results they obtain.Thor wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 5:44 pmRelentlessByways1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 5:00 pmBe ready for one big disappointment.Chief crazy horse wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 4:42 pm Kent Teague said, the appointment, early this week, 'will catch a lot of Orient fans by surprise'. Blimey, how do you read that one!!
It will be a cheap option nobody where certain people like Andy will try to big up.

I'd be a lot happier with Fletcher than Calderwood.Loyal_Supporter wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 6:05 pm Carl Fletcher being new manager = me SEVERELY f*cked off......
Kent described the appointment as being a surprise to the supporters. On that basis its far more likely to be Fletcher than Calderwood - of the two.

The board will have rubber stamped the selection, but the selection itself was almost certainly LingsUpminsterO wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 9:14 am None of us are perfect.
Whoever gets the gig and I mean whoever let's all cheer them unconditionally
The board have selected who they can and who they believe is the most suitable from all applicants
Re: New Manager Chosen
Today could be the day!
Going by what has been said, I reckon it might be someone not mentioned in the betting markets and not discussed yet, hence the 'surprise' element.
I also don't think the board are gonna be stupid..... the base requirements IMO are track record and defensive qualities, only something exceptional could over-ride that. So I reckon it could be either the 'proven' type such as Gary Johnson, or perhaps a very well-known ex-pro (not Terry, but someone similar).

It's quite obvious most will back the new appointment - goes without saying. But that doesn't bar anyone from criticising the choice..ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 9:26 amThe board will have rubber stamped the selection, but the selection itself was almost certainly LingsUpminsterO wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 9:14 am None of us are perfect.

Re: New Manager Chosen
Of course it’s about results, however, the quality of the appointment is about increasing the chances of good results. No guarantees whoever comes in but an experienced person with a decent track record reduces the risk. Look at Gary waddock at Southend, experienced guy yet one win in 9 as caretaker manager. So no guarantees as we all know.Andy Gilson wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 9:09 amI won't 'big up' anyone Thor. I would be hugely disappointed if the Board think the time is right to bring in an unproven man. Sure it could work. Whoever the Board choose I hope they get it right. I’ve no doubt reactions from the fans will be mixed but that’s inevitable.

Re: New Manager Chosen
If I had a couple of million of my money tied up in a company I would damn well want an input into such a selection, give T&T some credit, 2 millionaires are not going to sit there filing their nails during the interview process are they.
ML may have whittled the applicants down, but it would have been an agreed decision over the successful applicant.

I never said you did, that was byways1 who said what you think I said. My comment was “relentless” aimed at byways1 as he’s the most gegative border on who who always wants to do down the club, manager, owners etc.Andy Gilson wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 9:09 amI won't 'big up' anyone Thor. Re: New Manager Chosen
Of course T&T will want to speak with the guy before an offer is made. That in my experience in not unusual when a senior appointment is being made. Ling will make his recommendation and unless the Board feel it it totally wrong will back Lings decision. But they too have to work with the guy and whilst they are in no position to question Lings judgement on footballing matters, They too will want to be sure a good working relationship can be made.Andy Gilson wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 9:43 am If I had a couple of million of my money tied up in a company I would damn well want an input into such a selection, give T&T some credit, 2 millionaires are not going to sit there filing their nails during the interview process are they.

Re: New Manager Chosen
Makes sense, he is under contract so a fee would be due, Nuge has been spotted at the club, he would surely bring him back in. It would surprise a few although I'd welcome him and in all honesty he would be a perfect fit right now.DuvB wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 8:45 amOn that basis, I am guessing the bald messiah will return.brentwoodo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 5:24 pm Martin Ling also said yesterday in his pre-match 'Prawn Sandwich' presentation that most people will be pleased with the new managerial appointment. Stephen Dawson has just signed for Hereford, I imagine on the basis that Slade is the manager. No way would he have signed if Slade was about to jump ship.Thor wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 12:40 pmMakes sense, he is under contract so a fee would be due, Nuge has been spotted at the club, he would surely bring him back in. CHERRIES loan manager Carl Fletcher has been offered the job as Leyton Orient boss, the Daily Echo understands.

Re: New Manager Chosen
Glad to see it reported elsewhere first.
We will no doubt benefit from his wealth of experience managing in L2.
If he was the best of the 40 applicants then bloody hell. Bring back Ross.
