Cannot believe it would be. I seriously cannot believe it would be. And 60k compo. Gotta be a wind up.
Not going to comment anymore on this so called appointment.

Also given his relative status he would have little bargaining power in retaining the current coaches.

Seems to me to be a gamble, but with promotion or relegation quite unlikely if we're gonna take one, now is the time.

Do not think he is worth a fee though, surely it'd be better to offer more money and get more managers applying.
40 applicants already apparently so the money must be Ok. Of course the 40 could be chancers.

There's a lot more to appointing a manager than a win ratio. I don't know much about this guy but if the same team that selected je pick him then there must be something about him.

Can see where you are coming from, but if it is him, he would have probably gone through an informal meeting with Ling & then interviews with the board in in person or Skype. Recent results prove we aren't actually in bad shape at all. He maybe just the figurehead to lead us on. Whoever is going to come in has to have the support of us as fans.

What points are you not sure about? That you were told something, that £60k was mentioned or Carl Fletcher was named?
Ok, personally I think it’s calderwood, he knows ling, he’s met him that part is in the open press, he’s at a league 2 club where wages are going to be around the 80k mark and prorated that’s about 60k to pay up the remainder of 1 years salary which is probably reasonable as compensation in his contract.

So I don’t think it’s Fletcher as he’s not currently in a front line role, if he has a compo agreement in his contract it would be more than 60k as his salary would be way higher than 80k, so I don’t think it’s him and I don’t think the money quoted is enough to secure him.

Whoever we appoint I will support the person and hope above all he is successful and for people to be moaning before anyone is appointed is in my opinion incredulous.

Fletcher did what he could when he was at Plymouth - He had one hand tied behind his back and they were in financial crisis at the time.

But this would be a huge gamble and seriously underwhelming, to pay compensation to a club for someone who hasn't coached properly or managed in nearly 6 years just screams of madness if its true.

If this screws up then our board will have to shoulder the blame, I can't say I'm too confident that it would work.

Definitely can not afford to take any chance at all.The new Manager has to be an experienced proven Manager at this level as a minimum.

Of course win ratio is only one factor. But tbh I’d sooner take a punt on a manager with a proven record than one without. Any new manager will be a risk, no guarantees, but you can do everything you can to reduce risk.

We didn't sit in on the interviews so really are in no position to say who the best affordable candidate was. Let's just give the new boss a bloody chance without the moronic ill informed pre condemnation.

How much is the club paying you to try and shut down any fan criticism of them?

Totally fed up with all this speculation and in some cases disgraceful character assassination. I’m expecting something special after listening to Teague. Someone whose name has not come up on this forum or the betting odds. Surprising.

I await to be surprised.

Don't be surprised if you don't get surprised and it's someone who's been mentioned a few times on here .
