The defence was better last season with Judd in it, that's a fact.
Ling has improved this season of that there is no doubt, let's see if Judd gets a run there now and if he's allowed to keep his place based on merit.

Re: ORIENT'S DEFENCE
The stats, accepting other factors come into play, show defensively we were better when Judd played and by some margin. All down to Judd, maybe not, but clearly over a 20 game comparison for each player it’s easy to argue the point that the defence was better when Judd played. Down to him or not.
Defensively he is as good as Ling, offensively he keeps opponents occupied, Ling is often invisible and gives his man the freedom of the park.

Re: ORIENT'S DEFENCE
Our defence last season was pretty consistent in its selection so yes the stat is worthwhile and supports that our defence was better last year with Judd in it.
All the best teams that ever played had a solid defence, that's a fact. Last year ours was more solid with Judd in the team over Ling.
Whereas this season the defence has been questioned and until Saturday just did not have the answers, I am hoping going forwards they will take confidence from the clean sheet.

I’ve guoted the numbers and ignoring your rude and rather stupid comments regarding my technical ability have openly stated that other things come into play. Of course they do and I opened the post to that effect. So I’ll assume you are too stupid to understand that, especially when resorting to insults, shame. Your insults say a lot about your intelligence.UpminsterO wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 8:55 pmCan't comment on matches - but your reference to stat is factually flaweddOh Nut wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2019 7:52 pmThe stats, accepting other factors come into play, show defensively we were better when Judd played and by some margin. Different players picked in our team for each player when played, you are attempting to compare but various other variables which neither player would have any impact on exist
Your subjective comments are your opinion which is fine but I think we have established that your previous technical ability on football is rather limited through your excessive number of daily posts which generally are limited in football technical interpretation
What the stats do show is that in 20 games with Judd playing we conceded few goals. An equal number of games with Ling playing we shipped a whole lot more. Them are the facts, facts as in the Orient programme. Thereafter it’s down to interpretation. But the numbers, give or take the odd error are there for all to see, so look.
What it does suggest to me is that over a 20 game period Judd was not a defensive liability. The record is rather good. Therefore giving Judd a run of games is not the risk some feel it may be. A lesser risk than giving Ling a run of games. It points to Judd getting a rum deal at the club, risking his career going backwards. I feel for the guy. He has been part of a miserly defence as proven by the figures.

Re: ORIENT'S DEFENCE
Admittedly I've only seen a few full games and all the highlights on line, but our defence looks completely disorganised, and I put that down to re's managerial skills v je's
