'Low Wage Expectation'

Post by Tent Keague »

On what evidence are we paying low wages?

Why would the new Manager / Head Coach role come with a 'Low Wage Expectation'?

From memory i believe we have a top 7 budget which should mean that across the club we are competitive.

Can't imagine that Justin was on a low wage. A competitive one but not low.

Yeah where has all this low wage nonsense come from? Don’t see it myself.

Recruited players established from the EFL, this equates to higher wages than the NL. Players rewarded with extended contracts which has to be on a higher wage than previous. A top 7 budget as you say, so again we are not low payers.

Someone is trying to stir up the masses on here.

Isn’t it a possibility we are still paying JE wages?
I would have thought the club had key-man insurance though.

Not really something for us to worry about is it. I can imagine the club would have all the necessary things in place that a modern employer should do. Especially as the owner is a leader in the field of Human Resources.

The question here is why the new manager / coach role should come with a 'Low Wage Expectation'. I just don't see it.

As Thor has pointed out, nothing seems to have been done on the cheap of late. So it just seems at odds with the clubs current way of thinking, which is that if we identify a player, tool, software, goods or services that would significantly improve us then we'll go for it within reason.

The club is being run correctly. We have arguably the best CEO its had, we have possibly in the short time of being owners the best owners the club has had.

They have stated ambitions to get to league 1 asap and to have a crack at getting in the championship. If they wanted it done cheap I'm sure there's a few championship managers out there who could do it cheaply.

Everything that has been done so far has been to put this club back in order. Debts paid and they've admitted to finding more than they thought existed. All paid. They've put in place a coaching team which had been decimated, a scouting network which had been dismantled, a ticketing system which didn't work, bank accounts which had been frozen, and on and on I could go.

Nothing so far has been cheap, nothing has been done to cut corners. Revenue streams are being brought to the club to make it more sustainable in the long run. We finally have owners that understand and connect with the supporter base. Tell me if you've seen club owners talking to fans in pubs, clubs and on terraces, cos I'm not sure that happens anywhere to be honest.

This is a club going back to where it should be, run by professional people from the owners down. It's so true in business and I certainly don't need to educate our owners on this, but put good people in the right positions and you will find success. So far they have done that. I trust them to do that once more.

So I say, the manager will not be cheap, he will be paid a salary and package according to his position and one that is competitive to this league and possibly to the one above or at least with increments based on performance.

Let's not be distracted by trolls on here trying to do down the club or persons in the club trying to find the right person to continue on the good work that Justin started.

Blimey what a load of hot air.
We will see how ambitious the club is by the new appointment.
Steve cotterill, Phil Parkinson or Sol Campbell will do for me.

That's not ambition.

We need Pep, then we know we are showing ambition.
