James Dayton
When is he expected back?
If I’m correct the injury sustained against Sutton was a fractured ankle. That was back in April.
A bit of googling tells me that this injury usually takes 2-3 months to recover from.
Was the injury more serious than a fracture?
Do professional athletes need longer recovery periods than the average Joe who falls down the stairs?
Is google a terrible source for estimating how long players will be out?

Re: James Dayton
That’s good to hear. Hopefully we’ll see him running on the pitch soon.
I was flicking through YouTube earlier and the highlights from that match popped up as a suggested vid. Watching it back months later that tackle really was horrendous. How the t*sser who did it doesn’t even get booked is beyond belief.
If you’re ever wondering if life in League 2 really is that much better then I suggest watching highlights from the Sutton and Bromley away games last year.

Re: James Dayton
Yeah agreed, its pleasant to watch games where the opposition is not trying to cut you in half.

Re: James Dayton
He's had a succession of injuries, so don't expect much from him. If he can regain his form of old, then it will not be this season unfortunately. Hope he proves me wrong though.
Re: James Dayton
What old form? I think he's proper hit and miss, don't get the love in for him, very average player.

Re: James Dayton
He has done nothing to warrant the hero worship those in the club clearly display to him.

Re: James Dayton
He creates chances, he tracks back and works well with the full back, generally two people are taken up with marking him, creates good space for others.
Other than all that I guess we’ve not missed him at all!

Re: James Dayton
He got sent off in his last game, so does the club have to tell the league when he is fit to play and provide evidence, so he can serve his ban.

Re: James Dayton
Stick him on the bench before he's fully fit to the take the "ban"

He's arguably the only wide player we have who can actually cross a ball but I do fear he won't be anywhere near the player he was after injury and no pre-season.

Re: James Dayton
Don't think he'd make the squad at present unless he takes the place of Alabi. Certainly wouldn't put him in front of Brophy, JMD or Dennis.
Good opportunity for some minutes in the EFL Trophy though if he's up to it.

Re: James Dayton
According to Ross Embleton in his Post Match interview he considered including James Dayton in the squad today but felt it was better to wait a further week. Whether Ross will be selecting next weeks team remains to be seen of course.

Re: James Dayton
It’s a time based ban, not a you get banned when you’re fit. He has served his ban in full.
