Whether people like Martin Ling or not, credit must be given where due. In the Club statement about Head Coach Search he has made a determined effort to overtake Peter Eustace in the metaphor charts.
He refers to turbulent waters, Ross being the man at the helm steering the ship through turbulent, turbulent times and getting the trawler net out to search for his replacement.
Continuing with a nautical theme: with Martin to show the new man the ropes, let's hope we have weathered the storm and from now on it will be plain sailing.

Oil on troubled waters now Ross has pulled the plug. I just hope we don’t recruit a right Anchor.

Re: Metaphor Challenge
I think Lingy Snr may have just jumped the shark there.
Either that or he had bet on in the office he could out-Eric Mr Cantona with his fishy philosophical musings.
