Re: Embleton steps down
Respect Ross for stepping up and giving it a go, and respect him for making the decision he has – perfect timing and the right decision in my book.
Over to ML now, am sure he must have already given it some thought, so one wouldn’t expect it to take an inordinate amount of time to conclude.

Re: Embleton steps down
This was always going to happen.the interim word before Ross's job title was the clue.
Im not 100% sure this was Ross's decision either. i feel maybe Ling told him it was time to quit, but quite rightly to have put that out, would have humiliated Ross.
I have no idea who to appoint. all the best managers are in jobs I assume, so it means nicking someone or going for a manager who has been sacked, probably many times
Just to finish, this is a good decision.....Ross isnt a manager, and it shows, but the players have also had a major part to play with their poor performances

Exactly, that title, Interim, sends out an uncertain message to the players and supporters alike.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 1:15 pm This was always going to happen.the interim word before Ross's job title was the clue.

Our moaner fans make me sick. Salford only have 2 more points than us. Are their fans calling for Alexander to step down?
Apparently some of them are!

Re: Embleton steps down
I suspect it may have been decided either in his own mind or within the club hierarchy to make the move if Saturday's result didn't go our way.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 1:15 pm This was always going to happen.the interim word before Ross's job title was the clue.

Where Ross even says in his own words he doesn't see himself as a manager it's pretty clear he didn't feel comfortable in the role. No shame at all in going back to the job that better fits his skills and personality.
Now we need to ensure the right man comes in and give him the backing to improve the squad significantly. If the first 10 performances are put on RE then the next 10 are solely on the owners and Ling.

Except it doesn't, because in the circumstances it was entirely the right thing to do.RoryRocks wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 1:25 pmExactly, that title, Interim, sends out an uncertain message to the players and supporters alike.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 1:15 pm This was always going to happen.the interim word before Ross's job title was the clue.

Re: Embleton steps down
I suspect Orient will now go on a winning run until the new manager arrives. At the very least, I hope Orient win this weekend for Ross Embleton and he can return to his old role on a relative high. Not sure he was ever going to be the non-interim head coach, but he did step up to the role and gave it his best. Possibly with a easier run of games, he may have kept the role into 2020.
I am pretty sure the new manager has already been sounded out. I would expect an announcement ahead of the Walsall game.

Re: Embleton steps down
It's incredible that Embleton is now seen as a good bloke that has made a brave decision. You could equally argue that he has done this to take the pressure off himself and he should have stuck at it until he was pushed (unless of course he was pushed).
He's only been in charge for a handful of games. This reminds of the dark days under Bechetti.

Re: Embleton steps down
He was only ever supposed to be in charge for a limited number of games, so it's nothing like it was under Beelzebub. And also, as someone else said, the gap between Edinburgh's death and a new permanent manager coming in will give the latter a better chance of succeeding.bobo66 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 3:38 pm It's incredible that Embleton is now seen as a good bloke that has made a brave decision. He won’t be in charge on Saturday .Cheshunto wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 11:24 am The players haven’t exactly covered themselves in Glory in the past few games and should take their share of responsibility.
Ross has done the right thing and has done his best in difficult circumstances.
We need to get behind Ross and the team on Saturday.
Sol will.

Re: Embleton steps down
I reckon 10 games was the first review milestone. Given it's not been going well could've been the case a win or even good draw against Colchester would've pushed the decision back a bit but in the end it was the right time to make the call.
