Appears to be in a bunker as we speak.

Who the feck do Lansman and these other Momentum idiots think they are?

Labour shooting themselves in the foot - again.

The biggest idiocy is the timing, just when you have a chance to put forward your policies for for the election ( before Boris steals them all) , you throw away any chance of setting the media agenda for the conference.

Agreed. This Momentum group are clearly not the sharpest pencils in the box.

A 'conniving' pencil is a dangerous thing to have in the box.

The left care more about purging the ideologically impure than beating the Tories

Tom Watson seems a decent and down to earth chap who talks common sense, something that does not go down too well in this current Labour party.

bullsh*t move by Corbyn if true. You're either for party democracy or you're not. If the members wish to remove the human cesspit that is Tom Watson then it should be their right to do so. The bloke has been a factional, politicking, Machiavellian bullyboy since he joined the party and I imagine average members are sick to the back teeth of it. He hasn't delivered on a single commitment that he made in his deputy campaign. Anyone remember the digital membership hogwash. Where's that Tommy Boy? Its always remarkable to hear the sectarian Right of Labour howl so loudly about its broad church now it is denied its executive stranglehold.

I’m not sure that abolishing the post of deputy is the wag to do it, but Watson is a f****g turncoat of the first order and the sooner he’s f****d off out of the party the better.

Really? Corbyn has the worst approval ratings ever for a leader and this whilst there is civil war in the nasty party.

Don’t make me laugh.

And he's had such an easy ride from the press and his own party!

I'm as critical of Corbyn as the next bloke but let's not pretend that there's not been a concerted effort by the media establishment and the vested interests in Labour to smash Corbyn and his relatively mild political programme. The assumption of his "moderate" critics seems to be that there is some sort of palid alternative that would cure Labour's ills. Its just utterly untrue. We are in a moment where moderation won't even scratch the surface of the problems that we face as a society and, frankly, a civilization.

Hence more reason not to commit politico hare-kiri on the eve of such an important conference.

The move to remove Watson had nothing to do with Corbyn or his team. As far as I'm aware it was a grassroots initiative in response to Watson's near constant sabotage of the party. I'm more annoyed that Corbyn has used his privilege as party leader to snuff it out than I am with the politically inexpedient timing of the move. Corbyn seems to want to diffuse power when it suits him and not when it doesn't. Labour is either going to become the democratic and grassroots party it always should have been or its going to wither and die because old style political parties have had their day. Bureaucracies are totally incapable of responding to rapid change (or just about anything else for that matter) and rapid change is the future.
