Sam Ling

Defensive masterclass. Crewe’s 2nd goal was something special even by Ling’s sh*t standards. What has Judd got to do to get a chance?

A Long ball over the top & its Lings fault ?

You are a proper Melt becky malone

Ball gets squared & Marvins slight touch puts it at the goalscorers feet .
If ekpiteta leaves it , Coulson thumps it away

To be fair, I thought Ling had a good game by his standards tonight.

Until switching off in the 90th minute and costing us the game.

Thought Ling had a decent game. Our problem was after Angol went off we weren't really a threat going forward.

Change his name to Ling by deed poll.

As for the goal, ball coming in at pace and Marv didn’t deal with it. The issue was the ball coming in at pace in the first place. Ling was nowhere, gave the guy a free run and a free cross. Root cause. Ling.

Should have left it alone , it then falls straight To Josh who bangs it away , instead he tees it up for the crewe player to pick his spot .

Marv definitely takes the final blame but watch it again. Simple ball over the top and their player is in behind Ling. Ling gets back goalside and then seems to jog alongside him, allowing space for the cross. Stop that cross like fullbacks should be busting a gut to do in the 90th minute and we draw the game...

Wrong again. Should have banged it into row z or whatever stand. You can’t risk leaving a ball across the face of your own goal in the 90th minute. In the split second that’s crossed, he doesn’t know Josh is there.

See, if you actually knew anything about football you'd realise that we have conceded 3 penalties to forwards running at us this season already , Ling cant make contact & running at pace with the guy would leave us open to a probable penalty against us again .

Unlucky not to get a block in timing wise , but Marvin

Leave the ball alone use your eyes , Coulson could possibly claim it by giving Marv a shout but thats about it.

Yeah, just leave a cross into the 6 yard box in the hope someone else will deal with it.

So because we’ve given some penalties away, fullbacks shouldn’t be stopping crosses? Or letting their man get in behind?

What on earth are you talking about?

I'm not a Ling hater but he doesn't stop enough crosses for me & their all becoming a bit costly now.
Not sure why Ross isn't at least giving Judd ago in the position as he has rotated pretty much every other players position.
The more he plays Ling the more fans are going to be thinking there's something underling this behind the scenes.

Doesnt know he is there ?
🤣😂🤣😂

He is running a straight line back to his goal from the long ball , he is only watching lingy & the ball & the attacker, a good defender is aware of where his team mates are by moving his eye muscles & head to look & be aware of space & positioning.

Either you’re so desperate to defend Ling, you know absolutely nothing about football, weren’t watching or you’re trolling. Maybe a combo.
Either way, it’s too late to be arguing about your nonsense. Night x

Put into row z ?
When the ball is behind him & his stretched foot lets it bobble a yard straight to the goal scorer , tell me how the f*ck he puts in row z when he cant stretch far enough to put it 5 yards away .

Wum' you are clueless.

Are you related to Samling?

Or is there something about Marvin you don’t like?

People at fault for the second goal - JMD for giving the ball away when he only had to make a simple 10 yard pass, Samling for letting his man get goalside of him and not stopping the cross (as per), Marsh and Widdowson for letting the scorer get to the loose ball first.

People not at fault for the goal - Marvin as he’s in a textbook covering position on the six yard box in line with the near post, Coulson who is with his man, Deano who can’t do anything about that shot, Wright who busts a gut to get back in and cover Marsh.

Not related to Ling
Nothing against Marv other than allowing a goal to be scored
What does Joe widdowson have to do ?
Rugby tackle the bloke ?
