Just got back in.
As I live only a few miles away.
Overall a decent performance and not a bad point.
Both teams played attractive passing football and first half we were well worth the draw, if not more.
After we scored in the 2nd half Exeter cranked up the pressure and , for me, it was a case of when they would score, not if. From the distance we where the penalty looked unnecessary, not sure why Coulson brought him down.
The players that caught my eye:
George Marsh, excellent debut, has to start.
Lee Angol, work rate, hold up play was excellent, esp the first half.
Gorman looked ok as well!
Fair play to RE for ringing the changes but the substitutions seemed strange, finished with three out and out forwards when we should have been shoring up midfield, not weakening it.
Perhaps we need to get another midfielder or two.
The lads gave a performance and put in a shift.
Last point, noticed it was mainly DW standing in technical area giving instructions and to a lesser extent JM.
RE was mainly in dug out. Unusual to see an assistant coach seemingly taking the lead or giving the instructions.
Whatever, it certainly seemed to work.
Overall point gained imo.

Nah, I was home before the referee had finished blowing his whistle

Re: Just got back in.
A description of 2 O's players who have been sent off today according to an Exeter fan.
" Sort penalty? That was the most inept referee i have seen for a long time. Orient had 7 players booked for the cynical tactics and should have had two players sent off as he failed to book there #2 for going thorough Sparkes and the #8 for a horrendous dive scream and rolling around only to pop back up on his feet after 10 seconds. That penalty was the only thing he got right."

At which point they seemed to flick a switch and turn into a dirty, cheating set of bar stewards. As others have said nothing subtle just out and out thuggery and play acting......both Wycombe and Lincoln could take lessons from them and that really says it all.
We did not help ourselves at times and will not stay unbeaten for ever. Indeed I will not mind if we lose to a better team but to have to a such a team of cheaters would have been very hard to take and to score so late with Nicky Law’s penalty was no more than we deserved.

Re: Just got back in.
If its good enough for League 1 Lincoln & Wycombe it's good enough for me.
I've always thought we were a soft touch. Maybe they wrap them up in cotton wool in Devon.

Re: Just got back in.
Seems like we have a bit of steel in this side.
2 years in the conference has hardened us up to how to take advantage.
Just nedd to learn how to hang on to a lead for the last few minutes & we will do fine.

Re: Just got back in.
I find it very unusual that teams accuse us of being physical. All too often I feel we have been a soft touch and bullied. Yellows apart it’s about bloody time. The team are scrapping for points and reading the Exeter forum I find pleasing. Showing some fight. Well done. Good point. Nearly all three.

Not too impressed with those words from the opposition as it sounds like a bit of weak and inexperienced management. Take the lead and then do whatevers necessary, and at all costs, to cling on.

Tbf game management comes with experience. Sounded like we did what we needed to and frustrated until Coulson lost his head in the last few minutes.

I can’t believe that nonsense from the Exeter fan(s). I’d love it if we were that little bit more cynical but Our players just ain’t that way. (Other than the couple that love a tumble under the slightest contact, obvs).

Re: Just got back in.
Gormans got a bit of shithousery about him but it ain’t necessarily a bad thing. We need to be more of a team that frustrates the opposition.

I got really fed up decades ago watching some dirty players like Chris karama ( spelt wrong) of brentford -but if orient players play hard but fair (if that's what they do as I don't see any games) I will be very pleased
The league may fine the club if we get more bookings than most other teams - that will come out of the budget- which then effects the teams improvement
As they say there's more than1 way to skin a cat .
( no animals.were hurt in the making of this sentence).
Points are points.
