I find it horrifying, that ordinary working class people, want to be ruled by extreme right wing types, just to secure Brexit, without , it seems, even considering the ramifications it would bring. This is so similar to the Nazis gaining power in Germany in 1933.

Re: so it begins Brexit
For a moment there I thought that the Brexit party had actually won something significant rather than some councillors elected as Tories, who think it is better for their careers, to change party. I wonder what the electorate will think? It will make tactical voting difficult as you will never know which party your councillor is going to swan off to as soon as they get into the the Town Hall.

The real question is why do working people back the extreme right.ComeOnYouOs wrote: βFri Sep 13, 2019 8:09 pm I find it horrifying, that ordinary working class people, want to be ruled by extreme right wing types, just to secure Brexit, without , it seems, even considering the ramifications it would bring. Probably because the other lot are not listening to them.
Country flooded with cheap labour, illegals being given a taxi service to the beach and then not sent back. When a woman raised her concerns to Gordon Brown in 2010 she was called a bigot. Shows how out of touch they were and still are.And this is from a lifelong Labour voter.

Re: so it begins Brexit
The thing that amazes me, is that one of the fundamental reasons Working Class people want Brexit is to curb immigration. Yes it will stop ( in fact already has ) the influx of Central Europeans. But will mean that we will get another influx from elsewhere ( mainly 3rd World Countries ). People just can't get their brains ( if they have any ) around the fact Britain just doesn't have enough native people who are qualified or prepared to fill very many essential jobs.
The irony is, that the Poles,Romanians, Latvians etc are white, dress and look similar to us and come from cultures not too far removed from ours and have shown every sign of embracing our cultures. The people from 3rd World countries will not have that advantage. The Brexiteers need to realise that for the UK to function we need immigrants. I for one greatly appreciated them, when I was in hospital last year. The vast majority were fabulous. Any dodgy moments were caused by Foreign and British people in roughly equal proportions. No race is totally perfect.

Re: so it begins Brexit
What nonsense.
There are loads of British people who will do these jobs but not on the terms and conditions on offer.
When you see jobs advertised at Β£9 an hour for a 12 hour night shift someone must be doing it. These jobs used to be a premium rate 15 years ago because no one would do them otherwise. Itβs all down to supply and demand, we donβt need warehouse workers from abroad so that companies can pay peanuts.
