Thought that was actually rather reserved given what happened in the game. Richie would've been a bit more animated I suspect

Just hope this isn't the precursor to the EFL now looking at VA-farce for our level, no-one wants that ruining the games

He's a decent manager, and it's a reasonably measured repsonse (in the circumstances)

Let's hope to some extent though they've lost their heads a bit over this and will lose focus in the second leg..

We can play better than yesterday. Only Stockport fans will know if they can as well..

He’s properly rambling there. I think what he’s trying to say is that he’d be more concerned if the officials thought that Beckles had touched it and still didn’t give offside, but he then starts saying that if they haven’t seen Beckles touch it then that’s the most concerning thing.

Interesting to see that basically the entire Stockport team lost their heads over that dodgy goal. It completely trashed the rest of their first half performance and Challinor openly admits that he needed to re-motivate the team at halftime because of it. I know a bad decision like that is frustrating but it was in the first half of a two leg play-off. It’s hardly like it was the deciding moment of the whole tie. For a whole team to be so negatively impacted by it rather than automatically using it as a fuel is quite telling.

The referee of course missed a blatant penalty on CK

He rambles in every interview. Watching 10 minutes of a Dave Challinor interview you lose the will to live. Top manager mind you.

Not sure he missed it, just didn’t want to give us another one.

I didn't think he was that bad, the scary thing is though it's offside regardless of who has won the header

Am I missing something? Kelman wasn’t offside from the first header. It was Beckles touch on that made him offside.

I could be wrong but if Beckles touches it is obviously offside but for him to be onside from the defender it would have to be a deliberate backward header by the defender who is aiming for the keeper, ie it's where the defender wants the ball to go or appears to rather than where it ends up

I'm sure it happened in the Bundesliga a few months back

He was well onside when Clare headed the ball.

It glanced off Beckles’s left forehead, as he arched backwards towards the goal.

From the South Stand it was obvious the ball changed direction.

but, I can easily imagine that the Lino saw no change of trajectory from his angle, and assumed he hadn’t touched it = onside in his mind.

Strongly dislike this, we've not had to deal with that crap all season so why is it being brought into the last game :(

Think he is a good manager and person. I know 2 people who have worked with him, doesn't take him self seriously, likes to play it up a bit . Likes to do team talks as a laugh when players are stressed. Realises it's great to be I'm football in a managers role/ coach

Can't believe he said on local radio that we should gift them a goal in first minute on Wednesday.

Wellens reaction to this going against us would be apoplectic. Can completely understand why Challinor was so hacked off, even if the decision wasn't inexplicable in that you can see why they missed Beckles's touch.

Yet to see conclusive evidence of Beckles touching it. Is there any footage from behind the goal?

He did - it took about four/five replays from different angles (shown on Sky) before it became visible.

So, yes - it was offside. No, it wasn't the biggest travesty of justice since Eve got Adam lobbed out of paradise. VAR would have picked it up, don't think it was reasonable for the match-day officials to have spotted it on the day.
