We badly need Dan Happe
Dans absence has been a massive loss. His size and physical presence may well have stopped the 2 Stockport goals today. At the moment we are just not big or powerful enough to defend set play situations. Hurry up and get fit Dan !

Can’t stay fit.
But yeah, you’re right. As good as Stockport were yesterday, the only times they really hurt us were balls from their right to the far post. That way they bypass Cooper and Beckles, targeting REG/Galbraith in the air. Our lack of height is our one big weakness.

Re: We badly need Dan Happe
Just going to try score than they do.
Think we will go with 4-2-3-1 for 2nd leg, hopefully Brown & Currie can start
Can see bringing James on if we need to push Galbraith forwards
O’Neill for last 30 mins to replace Agyei or Williams
All finely poised.

We cannot start with a back line of Currie, Beckles, REG and Galbraith. They’ll murder us in the air.

Who would you start with? A lot depends on who is fit , obviously.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 11:33 am We cannot start with a back line of Currie, Beckles, REG and Galbraith. They’ll murder us in the air.
Can’t see James starting
And the 3 centre back formation didn’t work on Saturday
We looked a lot better when we reverted to 4-2-3-1

Re: We badly need Dan Happe
It wasn’t the formation. The 3-4-1-2 formation has been fine in recent weeks. (Even if Richie doesn’t like it).PKM wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 12:10 pmWho would you start with? The problem was playing Donley as CM. He gave it a good go but that’s not his strength. He has to play as the 10.

Re: We badly need Dan Happe
Exactly, the lack of a proper cm alongside Clare meant there were too many spaces for them to exploit. Brown was the big miss. Surprised Ball didn’t start, but suppose it says where he stands in Wellens eyes.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 12:25 pmIt wasn’t the formation. Agree re playing Donley as a CM, deffo not his strength.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 12:25 pmIt wasn’t the formation. The 3-4-1-2 formation has been fine in recent weeks. But that won’t help the ‘murdering us in the air’ feeling, unless your suggestion addition of Cooper helps there and perhaps Brown adding an extra shield for the defence?
Would you stick with the 3-4-1-2 for 2nd leg?

Technically Joe Piggot is still our player, isn’t he?

Re: We badly need Dan Happe
If Brown is back I’d stick with the formation, Donley further forward would mean our attack is more fluid and coherent, while the 3cbs is pretty solid. If no brown I’d go 433 with Currie lb and Williams/James rb, Ethan in cm.PKM wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 12:32 pmAgree re playing Donley as a CM, deffo not his strength.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 12:25 pmIt wasn’t the formation. Against a toothless Huddersfield & an out of form Wycombe.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 12:25 pmIt wasn’t the formation. The 3-4-1-2 formation has been fine in recent weeks. Brown & Currie please, with Donley No 10. James, to play a part, if not start.

Re: We badly need Dan Happe
How about Cooper at RB? Galbraith struggled to physically handle Oloafe on the left wing, surely Cooper would do a better job defensively then we can push Ethan in the middle (if Brown isnt fit, and if he is we can put Clare on the bench, Ethan is way too good to bench) with Sean Clare, and have Currie to deal with Fevrier on their rightHoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 11:33 am We cannot start with a back line of Currie, Beckles, REG and Galbraith. Hasn't been mentioned for a while too, very random and strange, he was just coming into his best form in an Orient shirt before he has been injured for months

Re: We badly need Dan Happe
They will both feature, no doubt. It’s just whether they start or not. With the possibility of extra time, it makes more sense to start them and run themselves into the ground, then come off. Otherwise you could bring them on at 60 mins and they then have to play 70 mins with pretty much no break.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 2:28 pmIt's now sh*t or bust , they have to play .Orient Punxx wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 1:13 pm Brown & Currie please, with Donley No 10. Re: We badly need Dan Happe
Spoke to Jack before the Wycombe game and thinking he was injured asked him when he would be back. He replied that he had been told that he 'did not fit in and was not fit'. Strange reply.essexfootball wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 2:29 pmHasn't been mentioned for a while too, very random and strange, he was just coming into his best form in an Orient shirt before he has been injured for months

Re: We badly need Dan Happe
My guess is that if Brown is fit, then Gally will play right back to stifle their left winger and Currie to play right back to stop the other guy for as long as he can manage - to be replaced by TJ when he is knackered.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 3:27 pmThey will both feature, no doubt.
