Its interesting to note, that Hamas only formed in 1987, and didnt get into power until 2006.

I do find it absolutely extraordinary that these atrocities are happening in plain sight but yet many bury their heads in the sand and/or try to justify what is happening.
It's very sad & quite frankly scandalous

With the advent of VE Day, I’ve watched some of the programmes looking back at WW2. It’s been of interest to me to see some of the very old veterans relating stories about their experiences. The references to the camps and the treatment of the Jews remain as harrowing and disturbing as ever. It’s difficult to imagine the horrors that these poor souls experienced.

For me, this makes what is happening right now, in Gaza, even more inexplicable. Why would a State, formed after WW2, by Jews escaping from persecution in Europe evolve into such an evil, murderous bunch of thugs. It’s absolutely right to remember and condemn the actions of the Nazis during WW2 but at the same time, how can anyone not also condemn the State of Israel for crimes against humanity for their actions in Gaza.

Spot on. Watched a couple of fantastic documentaries on bbc iplayer that are new about the holocaust. They are tear inducing. And the fact that some of the people in Israel today, supporting the nationalist government would have had parents and grandparents in those camps is mind blowing.

Unfortunately, as a Jew, it’s all about religious indoctrination. Because the holocaust happened it embeds their view even more that Israel is promised and anyone encroaching on that has to be removed

Hamas is a recognised terrorist organisation and is treated as one and roundly condemned. Ordinary citizens of Gaza are not recognised as such and are being systematically targeted by Israel.
I expect all Jews would like forums such as this closed down.
We do talk about and condemn over such actions around the world but this is a thread about Israel.
