Re: Would You
Well, we played a lot better yesterday when they were on the pitch. We should also finally realise that we don't possess wing backs and play accordingly.

Re: Would You
Well in fairness I think that’s the first League game where the opposition had the greater percentage of the ballHowling Mad Murdock wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2019 11:40 am Having possession of the ball would be nice, also.
I thought Swindon where a good all round team and as said already 7 and 30 outstanding

Re: Would You
Just as 5-3-2 was used by Justin so we could get all our best players in the team, why not devise a formation this year to get all of them in the team.
Dennis ain't a striker in my view, but it sucks balls that Wilkinson is in front of him. On that count I do think we were seduced by his hot streak at Dagenham, and the 'League 2 is no different from National League so all our existing players should be good' mindset. His League record is pretty poor, easy to see why. Angol on the other hand, everyone can sense there is a player in there if given service.
JMD ain't a winger either in my view, needs to be central. Brophy is, but his wing play overall is let down by his lack of final ball, so even he might benefit from being in the middle and keeping it simple.
So, 4-2-3-1 could be the formation that fits them all in. Trouble is, I can kinda see similar downsides to it. Not much defensive qualities in the 3 behind Angol so that puts a bit of pressure on Wright and Clay. Don't think they are fast enough, as we saw from the Swindon third goal a turnover in midfield and we are cut apart.
Full-backs would still need to get forward a little to provide some width, but neither seem suited to that. Rather ironic that the 3 central defenders are not really the problem for us, but it'll be one of them that gets the chop, and probably the best one on form at that (Happe)

Re: Would You
Angol's had his chance in the starting 11 and I'm not too impressed by Wilkinson either. But what else have we got on the bench? But there needs to be a change next week, if only to make sure those 2 don't get complacent about always starting, unless it's in their contracts that they have to if they are fit.
