Re: Kelman
QPR play with a massive striker, can't see him fitting into the managers system bar playing on the wing, wonder if one of the big teams going down will take a punt, it feels like his price is never going to get higher than the end of the season

Re: Kelman
Well done Charlie.
If QPR have an option to extend his contract, they should give him another chance in the Championship, he deserves it.
If not, clubs from League One and possibly above will be clamouring for his signature.

He's definitely quality and the type of player we're going to need if our new investors really want us to get up to the Championship .

Re: Kelman
QPR have a decent young lad who's broken through this season. I think their fans are happy with him, so have a more relaxed view on someone they have already given a couple of chances to.PKM wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 8:43 am Interesting to see QPR fans views on Kelman on their boards
To sum it up, they’re not exactly salivating at the prospect of Kelman in the Chanpionship with them, although they admit Kelman has done himself proud here. Perhaps because Charlie was signed 4.5 years ago they are a bit jaded with him.
They don’t seem to know QPR have an option on Charlie for next season. Many think £500k -£1m wouldn’t be too bad for him.
Be interesting to see what happens, certainly RW has brought out the best in Kelman and maybe that will be a factor in where he ends up.
Whilst the new owners may want to pay £500k - £1m for him, the wages will present a greater problem. I reckon the bar would be set at or towards £10k a week by his agent - or his own expectations. It may even be that he thinks he is "championship ready" or if he's ever going to make it in the championship then next season is the one?
Not long to have to wait and see.

Re: Kelman
I always had faith in Kelman's ability to score regularly this season, mostly because RW had great faith in him. Yes, he has done well but RW's role in his development and the number of goals he has scored only serves to highlight how good a manager he is. Also, Kelman revels in his role up top as it utilizes his tremendous engine which allows him to harass defenders plus get into good scoring positions. I am not convinced he will prosper as well under another manager who doesnt play Kelman to his strengths. We shall see.

Re: Kelman
Pure guesswork on my part but this is what I reckon will happen, Galbraith goes to QPR and kelman comes to us, we receive kelman plus a million quid
And remember Smyth his international colleague is there too

Re: Kelman
Was thinking about this yesterday, he's clearly thrived with regular football and imo would be better off starting every week with a side in the upper reaches of L1 and winning promotion than being a bit-part player in the Championship. Would love it to be with us though suspect like El Miz he'll be beyond our price point.essexfootball wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 11:22 am QPR play with a massive striker, can't see him fitting into the managers system bar playing on the wing, wonder if one of the big teams going down will take a punt, it feels like his price is never going to get higher than the end of the season

Re: Kelman
His value has sky rocketed, everyone wants a decent striker and his wages will be way beyond us new investors or not. Good luck to him.

I think PSG's Doue watched our game last night. Tried to emulate our Charlie but it was a poor imitation - and Rio had the front to call it a worldie.

I thought we were at the max of our FFP, how can new owners with deeper pockets get around this?LittleMate wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 1:39 pmQPR have a decent young lad who's broken through this season.
