Fulham are absolutely plastic. Stupidly expensive tickets, openly aimed at tourists. Brentford probably the opposite, tbf.

Re: Are Fulham the most plastic of PL clubs?
See Fulham as really not much bigger than Orient, in terms of hardcore fanbase.
if they plummeted to L2, they'd get about 6,000. None of it is the fault of the hardcore that stuck with the club through thin times of course..
*If Orient moved to a new shiny ground, and suddenly another 12,000 fans appeared from nowhere then we would seem plastic too.
Although bigger I always see Chelsea as plastic too. Take out the wallets of Abramovich/Boehly, and they're similar in size to Watford.
Hard not to see Bournemouth as plastic as well.

Re: Are Fulham the most plastic of PL clubs?
I can remember seeing Orient play away to Fulham years ago . We were both in the bottom league ? I can’t remember if it was league 2 or 3 . in those days Glenn Cockeril was our captain . Anyway there was only about 3 or 4 thousand people there that day. Fulham do well and
, untold thousands turn up . I’ve wondered if the same thing would happen to us if we ever found ourselves in the Premier League . My guess is we’d also get supporters come out of the woodwork

Was that the day Mark Warren scored a late equaliser? Went bonkers when that went in.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 1:48 pm I can remember seeing Orient play away to Fulham years ago . Use to enjoy trips to the cottage back in the 90's. Vague memory of being in my late teens and very drunk watching us win 2-1 there last day of the season circa 1990.

1-1 - 1996 / 97 season. Shilton in goal for us, McGleish was sent off.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 4:58 pmTBH , I can’t quite remember . Remarkable that we got this far without mentioning the FA Cup game.
Difficult for them to be the most plastic PL Club when they've got one of the least plastic grounds.

Only because they have that cottage in the corner otherwise it’s unremarkable

That's unfair. The façade of the Johnny Haynes stand is stunning. And the same stand still retains the triangular gable on top, which is one of the few surviving at British grounds. It's also a surviving ground that remains within the urban confines and hasn't relocated away into a soulless bowl.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 9:08 amOnly because they have that cottage in the corner otherwise it’s unremarkable

Yeah. Think they won the league that year under Micky Adams.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 8:44 amJust before they got the Al Fayed cash, iirc?Father Ted Crilly wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 4:59 pm1-1 - 1996 / 97 season. Shilton in goal for us, McGleish was sent off.

They should bring back the Michael Jackson statue, IMO. Perhaps pair it with one of Mohamed Al Fayed.

Lovely spot on the river too, making for a very pleasant journey to and from. These things matter, as anyone who has been to Colchester knows.Dunners wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 9:37 amThat's unfair. I was there when Warren scored at the Putney End in front of the O's fans.Omygawd wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 3:51 pmWas that the day Mark Warren scored a late equaliser? Yeah that was a great game and the first glimpse of Ricky Otto in full flow. I too got smashed that day and got bus back to the West End to have a few more points afterwardsFather Ted Crilly wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 4:58 pm Use to enjoy trips to the cottage back in the 90's. Happy days
As for Fulham being plastic. I disagree. I think they are a great club and have done very well considering proximity to QPR and Chelsea. Brentford don’t count though
