Is it time to have a little discussion about Diallang Jaiyesimi? His shot yesterday - which was so bad it cleared the South Stand roof - was the moment I made my final conclusion about this guy: he’s naff.
Given enough chances but he’s simply not good enough for this level. To seriously push for play offs you need a bench of players who can come on and make an impact. This bloke is just a last resort when the attacking players on the pitch are knackered.
Be honest, none of you have ever thought “brilliant DJ is coming on, we’re going to seriously up our threat levels now”.
He’s still in contract but get rid in the summer if possible. A contender for the 2024/25 Frank Nouble award.

Re: DJ
Being kind he's useful in a Tehoué esque role to bundle at defenders and make something happen by sheer physical presence alone. Definitely not a starter and like a few of our players hasn't managed to get fully match fit all season.

Re: DJ
That award is going to be renamed after Hemming as it's going to be hard to find a worse signing from here on in

Re: DJ
Dunno if it’s his natural body shape but he’s looked overweight all season. Work rate doesn’t seem to be there. Shown glimpses of quality.

His ‘shot’ reminded me of a certain ‘Nigel Gray Back Pass’ a long, long time ago. That’s why we built a wall at the back of the South Terrace.

It’s fair to say that Hemming probably carried more goal threat than NoubleRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 3:09 pmYour memory must be failing you . Frank Nouble was so bad Hemming doesn't even come close to him .

Nouble was bad but didn't directly throw away 6-12 points like the calamity keeper didRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 3:09 pmYour memory must be failing you . Frank Nouble was so bad Hemming doesn't even come close to him .

Re: DJ
He has good close control and is hard to be dispossessed, the problem is what does with the ball after that. There could definitely be a player in there but maybe needs some specialist coaching or something

At least the previous one would pop up with pivotal goals now and thenBiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:25 pm We replaced 1 fat bloke with good close control and low work rate with another. He’s not very good.

Re: DJ
Such a strange signing, don't think he is a League One player, probably on okay wages as Charlton don't pay shirt buttons
In the league 25 games, 1 goal, 1 assist, 2 yellow cards

Might be 25 appearances, but total minutes is 594, ie for many matches it’s just been a brief cameo appearance.essexfootball wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 5:36 pm Such a strange signing, don't think he is a League One player, probably on okay wages as Charlton don't pay shirt buttons

Re: DJ
Thought that the game he looked most composed and dangerous in was the Man City game, although could be a case that they'd never seen a player like him before. He very rarely gives the ball away, but he even more rarely does anything positive with it.
I think he's fine as a lump to bring on to hold onto a lead, and be played irregularly like he has been - but he's not a player you'd want if you seriously wanted to fight for promotion.
Seems a decent lad though, so that always helps.

Yeah, meant to say this before - he really excelled himself that day (as they all did tbf).MassiveForehead wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 5:01 am Thought that the game he looked most composed and dangerous in was the Man City game, although could be a case that they'd never seen a player like him before.
