On the contrary that should be *exactly* what we hear more of tonight. Time to step down Ross, you're out of your depth.
Attitude, application, physicality were a disgrace today. No defending what we saw in that first half. Only JMD can come out of that game with any credit.

Re: Swindon (H) Match / Exiles
The odd thing is before the game, I would've said going 5-3-2 was a good move, Swindon just completely dominated the half playing great football and when they lost it, pressed really high and quickly and Orient just couldn't deal with it and had no way of playing out and just kept giving possession back, the drinks break when Brill went down at 1-0 was the time to change something and they didn't.
JMD/Dennis made a big difference as you had someone who could run with the ball and bring it up the pitch and made the defenders back pedal. I thought Ogie should've been LWB after midweek rather than throwing Widdowson straight in the deep head. Angol had to be taken off, he was getting frustrated in the first half and may've got a red second period. Wilkinson works hard but there is no there, he doesn't hold the ball up, the headers he wins are aimlessly, at one point he got outmuscled/positioned by the opponents CM
Wright couldn't get on the ball so he was basically invisible, it just wasn't really good by anyone till JMD came on, Dennis looked a little bit lively but by that point the game was over at 2-0 and Swindon were just coasting and tiring a tad.

I agree. R.E as our full time manager, I dont think he is up to the job.
The agreement from what i read is that if R.E does not cut the mustard as interim manager, he then goes back into his old job.
Also any new manager who might come in, has to work with the existing coaches already in place, rather than bringing in his own backroom staff. Could be a bit uncomfortable that for any new manager having to accept, especially as one of the coaches he has to work with, has been trying to get the job himself.

Ross' interview at least accepts he messed up today but the fact he did shows this job ain't for him.
Highlight of that interview is what he says about comparing proper games like today vs. the NL where he basically admits the club thought it was tinpot "last season when we had to wear those ugly blue tops and some of the grounds we had to put up with".
Best address these poor performances sharpish or we might be saying hello to that experience sooner than any of us would wish.

Re: Swindon (H) Match / Exiles
The formation and tactics were dreadful. After Ling’s good tackle at the start, I thought this might be the game where he turned it around but no. He was dreadful. He looked absolutely knackered after 10 mins. Brophy playing as a 10 is a waste of his talent. The subs were awful. Either the wrong person came on or off. Josh Wright is an abomination of a player, offers nothing. I feel sorry for Wilkinson, Angol and Dennis. I feel sorry for Marsh, he is the player Orient need in midfield and he hasn’t had a chance. To quote the knobhead near me, SORT IT OUT.

As bad as Ling was, the 30 he was mostly up against was class.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 7:52 pm The formation and tactics were dreadful. Swindon are a very good team. Had no idea how they done last season or we’re doing this, so wasn’t sure if it was us making them look like world beaters or they really are quality for this division.

About as boring as hearing the opposition fans (rightly) taking the absolute piss out of us 10 mins after HT. Appalling performance and if you can defend what we saw today then your standards must be set really, really low.

Not seen anybody express joy at getting schooled by the mighty Swindon. Think you’ve just made that bit up.
Please tell us the positives from that game, as clearly you must think that there are some.

I think it's been quite balanced. Today was a disaster, I'm inclined to see what the rest of September brings before judging Ross, although I can understand the views of people that do want a proper manager.
If we had won that game we would have got a load of passive aggressive posts slagging off those who wanted Ross out.

Re: Swindon (H) Match / Exiles
I think we have seen a couple of the worst teams in L2 ie Cheltenham and Stevenage, and maybe some were lulled into a false sense of security, but today was a massive wake up call.
The first half was simply shocking and as others have said, RE must take most of the blame for starting with such a defensive formation, set up not to concede, and we then let in 3.
The only positive that we can take is that the 2nd half was far better, thanks to the formation we probably should have started with. Of course the gift of hindsight is a wonderful thing.
I thought all the subs made a difference as we actually won the second half, but Swindon had eased off a bit by then.
I hope RE ditches the 5-3-2 formation unless we sign full backs like Caprice who can actually attack and cross a ball.

If we'd won that game Ross would've showed some real nous and signs of getting the best out of his players to beat a good quality side. Alas reality is often disappointing.eagwgw wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 8:33 pm I think it's been quite balanced. Re: Swindon (H) Match / Exiles
In the interview with Dave Victor after the game, Ross admitted he got it wrong.
Very noble, but when we get it wrong, we learn from our mistake.........to get it wrong several times, and STILL do the same thing ( five at the back), is unforgivable.
He's a smashing guy, but he isnt manager / Head Coach material, surely its obvious to anyone who knows football, and the owners should be looking for a replacement, before we are in a real relegation dog fight

Re: Swindon (H) Match / Exiles
There is no dogfight this season, there is only one relegation place and already we are clear of that by some way. It'd take a massive loss of form to get there, I think with our 4-3-3 we will still be too much for some of the weaker sides.
I disagree with him retaining his old job if it goes tits up though. If we go on a winless streak and concede lots of goals, isn't he more the problem than the solution?
By having him in a protected role like this narrows down the potential managers we can get: for a start, some guys might want their own assistant, and secondly, it seems that if he does go, we need a defensive specialist, as that seems to be the part of the game where we are most lacking.
No coincidence that we immediately tightened up when Justin came in, but what if there was a good manager with a track record in this League with a long-time assistant who was defensively good?

Can’t argue with this - and wouldn’t Mind betting the Nigel and Kent have a list names being considered.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:03 pm In the interview with Dave Victor after the game, Ross admitted he got it wrong.
