Sam Dalby
Just noticed that he is currently plying his trade at 4th in the Scottish Premier league Dundee United, on loan from Wrexham. Marked his 25th birthday yesterday with a goal and seems a very popular figure up there. Certainly has had a nomadic career since leaving us in the crazy mad Italian days.

Re: Sam Dalby
Yes I think that’s his 6th goal in 7 games still young enough to move on in the game, wonder how he would have got on if he had stayed at the O’sHighwood Man wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 6:02 pm Just noticed that he is currently plying his trade at 4th in the Scottish Premier league Dundee United, on loan from Wrexham. Re: Sam Dalby
i think that just says it all about the paucity of Scottish football. I've thought that ever since the days of Sam Parkin he couldn't hit a donkey's arse Banjo for us. Went to the Scottish Prem and was banging them in for fun.

These guys lead a nomadic existence for sure. It must be quite unsettling, though I guess they get used to it.. I don't think we as fans fully comprehend it.Highwood Man wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 6:02 pm Just noticed that he is currently plying his trade at 4th in the Scottish Premier league Dundee United, on loan from Wrexham. They travel seriously light. I rented (former Bristol Rovers, Oldham manager, and Southend assistant) Dave Penney's flat after he vacated it in Southend.
He was still living there when I viewed it, but in an 800 sq ft flat there was literally a sofa, bed, tv, coffee table, and one of those crappy pop-up wardrobes. That was it. Nothing fancy whatsoever.

Re: Sam Dalby
Actually just noticed that Sam Dalby is, in fact, the leading scorer in the Scottish Premier League with 8 goals in 13 games! Who'd have thought it?

Re: Sam Dalby
So only six actual goals because penalties don't count as we all agreed on this Board a very long time ago.

After flopping in League 1, League 2 and the National League in recent years he’s finally found his feet in the Scottish Pub League.
Thirteen goals in twenty six games, pleased a local lad has found his level after struggling in the English Non League

I said I’m pleased for him after years of struggling to find the right fit/level and being moved about regularly.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 10:57 am 13 goals in the Scottish Premier League so far this season..why are you digging him out?

Probably having some half-decent players around him has improved his game opposed to the crud in English League 2 and non-leagueCurrywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 9:21 pm After flopping in League 1, League 2 and the National League in recent years he’s finally found his feet in the Scottish Pub League.

Re: Sam Dalby
It was the pub league reference that came to my notice. I reckon Dundee Utd could serve something up to the Os.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 11:02 amI said I’m pleased for him after years of struggling to find the right fit/level and being moved about regularly.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 10:57 am 13 goals in the Scottish Premier League so far this season..why are you digging him out?
