Jack Currie
Interesting fact from Currie on the Orient Hour last night,
contrary to general belief Oxford did not pay one million for him, rather four hundred thousand.

Re: Jack Currie
With that sort of fee we might be able to lure him away from Oxford particularly if they get relegatedLeger Ritson wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:17 pm Interesting fact from Currie on the Orient Hour last night,

Re: Jack Currie
For me, we should be doing everything possible to sign Jack Currie, and if there is a possibility, it should be done.
Jack has been such an important player for us this season, quality player, and when he has missed games, we have not performed.
Would like to know our win rate this season, with/without Jack.
I put Jack in same bracket as, Dennis Rofe, Kevin Dickenson, Matty Lockwood and Charlie Daniels, that's how high I rate him.

Re: Jack Currie
Took a while to get going but has improved throughout the year and everyone can consider his loan spell to be a complete success. He'll go straight into Oxford's squad next season, whichever division they're in.

Re: Jack Currie
They'd then have the perfect LB to springboard them back up again. Can't see us being able to get him back unless we're willing to splash the cash.moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:29 pmWith that sort of fee we might be able to lure him away from Oxford particularly if they get relegatedLeger Ritson wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:17 pm Interesting fact from Currie on the Orient Hour last night,

I'd take a Galbraith sale and a chunk of the resulting funds spent on getting Currie permanently

Re: Jack Currie
was surprised at the time that little old Oxford could afford a million pounds on a player. £400000 seems much more in line for a Div 2 defender

Oxford won’t get relegated and we couldn’t afford £400,000moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:29 pmWith that sort of fee we might be able to lure him away from Oxford particularly if they get relegatedLeger Ritson wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:17 pm Interesting fact from Currie on the Orient Hour last night,

Re: Jack Currie
Oxford’s other LBs have turned into sicknotes and they regret letting him stay with us for the whole season. Their first choice is coming to the end of his career and Currie was brought in as his putative replacement. Chances of us getting him are very very slim no matter what happens to them - and they probably will stay up.

Re: Jack Currie
He's still pretty positive in his interview today about the play-offs. Good for him. It'll be good to see him back in the team tomorrow.
