28/01/25 & 15/02/25

Post by Bandy Legs »

Are now showing up to be the 2 most Important
dates in our Season.
Omar Beckles out during the Exeter game & Tom James out during the Lincoln game.
Since then our back line has just got weaker & weaker.
The team loses all shape & us scoring goals slows right down.
Since losing Omar
Stockport Lost 0-1
Man City 1-2 lost
Mansfield 3-0 win
Lincoln 3-2 win
Since TJ & OB have both been out.
Wrexham 2-1 Win
Bolton 2-1 lost
Birmingham Lost
Charlton Lost
Rotherham 1-0 lost
Northampton 2 -1 lost

We can see now who the most important players in this squad now are ahead of next season.

Would put the Currie suspension in there too, lost every game since he's been out, much like start of the season where LB was a huge weak spot.

Sweeney was substituted at HT and it looked like Williams played LB. Was Sweeney injured ?

Not sure though if you need attacking threat second half Sweeney won't give you anything so that might be partly why

Think it was to leave the attackers on and get Kelman on. Williams looked ok at lb, although wasn’t tested other than by poor passes from Brown and Keeley.

No but he wasn’t great at all first half.

I like TJ but him missing is not the issue.

It’s the centre backs. Losing Happe at Wrexham after already losing Omar is what has done us.

Of Course it's the issue
TJ & OB give us so much more stability &
Completely frees up the midfielders to then be midfielders.

We are conceding goals for fun
Dan Happe was rushed back early from an injury before
Stockport 1st feb' after getting injured v Bristol Rovers1st of Jan.
Happe had played 2 or 3 games before getting crocked again, we did fine without him.
As soon as Omar was gone we started losing& Since TJ came off we've won 3 points from 18.

We lost TJ in December and January and still had our best run of results all season.

I like TJ and losing him is bit of a pain. But losing Beckles and then Happe is what has done for us.

Omar plays = we don’t concede four goals from corners in one week, and we’re still in with a shout of the playoffs.

I don't know but he did take a hard hit deflection full in the mush just before half time.

TJ played half the games in December with Beckles in the team, & missed only 2 games from the squad in January. Happe missing affected our results far less.
TJ came on in loads of games in January or started .

You really do make a lot of stuff up to try & convince people you know what you are talking about don't you.

Personally I think the loss of both Happe & Simpson after the Wrexham game were equally big losses. The REG / Cooper partnership was found wanting at Bolton/ Brum / Charlton & Rotherham. The unavailability of Currie has also been a major blow.

I'd rather you listed the games we lost without
Dan Happe during that period.
