He needs another year at this level, after facing the "better* sides, it has shown a lot more of the true level of some players

Great challenge from Sweeney.davidmoooney99 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 9:20 pm If Sweeney left tomorrow - he’d have clubs in the national league south queuing up for him

Perkins not good enough with that chance. he just doesn't use his height and weight or chases the ball.
COYOs, this is going the wrong way.

Drifting away this. Credit for the intent show in January, but too many key players injured for a club of our size to carry, and we needed the new guys to really hit the ground running - which arguably Markandy, Williams and Abdulai to a lesser extent haven't.

I will probably get roasted for this, but we are a million miles away from a playoff place the way they are playimg at the moment.

Well it should be 1-1 when your striker misses a chance you would expect your keeper to score, you get what you deserve

We haven't taken our chances tonight, as we didn't on Saturday to put that game to bed and suffered the consequences, as it looks like we'll do tonight.

Re: Matchday (evening) and exiles thread vs Rotherham 04/03/25
That’s a fair comment. Also our schedule has been brutal tired fatigued players and too many key players missing through injury has all but finished our playoff hopes. Still, we did well to flirt with the playoff spots considering where we were in mid November problem is we are up against clubs with far bigger budgets and stronger squads than us and this is where it is showing.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 9:30 pm Drifting away this. Unfortunately with him and Cooper playing it's like having 9 men, both nowhere near L1 level let alone challenging for Championshipdavidmoooney99 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 9:20 pm If Sweeney left tomorrow - he’d have clubs in the national league south queuing up for him

Sweeney should be playing conference football.

Re: Matchday (evening) and exiles thread vs Rotherham 04/03/25
Irony of Rotherham potentially ruining our championship dreams.
Can’t remember being more frustrated at a game. We played with no smarts. The end encapsulated that. Take 30 seconds to retrieve the ball, go too far up the pitch, don’t throw it long and then don’t sling the ball in, make a foul.
Our press was off, we barely won a second ball and we didn’t get the rub of the green. We look shot.
Saying that, we can still just about revive this. But we need to make some changes imo

Got what we deserved. Too many players didn’t show up. Without Happe , Beccles , Currie , James , it’s a league two back four.

Two games without Currie, two losses. Is anyone surprised?

4 defeats in a row. Back to the bad old days. Losing by the odd goal and throwing away a host of chances to score. Play offs are no longer in our hands and that great run means we're almost safe from relegation. Threw that game away.

Are people blind, should've easily got a draw, that chance missed was unforgivable, god knows how people can look at Sweeney and others

Re: Matchday (evening) and exiles thread vs Rotherham 04/03/25
If I'm finding an upshot to this, hopefully means Wellens has less takers in the summer. A bit gutting as for the last 3 months we have looked like a seriously good team. But with our budget, we basically need perfect luck, which injuries and decisions wise we've not had.

If that game was 3 weeks ago we win that comfortably. The positive is we are still making chances. Continue like that and we will start putting them away again soon.
Should have had a pen first half imo as well

Another disappointing result.
I have to hold my hands up and take some of the blame, after the Wrexham match I started looking at flights for the play-off weekend.

What about the two before then including when he got sent off.
There's always a scapegoat at the Os.

Re: Matchday (evening) and exiles thread vs Rotherham 04/03/25
I agree it'll turn around once we get first choice CB and LB back. Getting bullied in the air and there's no cohesion or attacking outlet down that left side nowRich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 9:45 pm If that game was 3 weeks ago we win that comfortably. And there's always Orient supporters defending players that just aren't good enough. If we want to move onwards and upwards have to be brutal in summer.Jeremy Bentham wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 9:46 pmWhat about the two before then including when he got sent off.
