Part of the deal must also include Nigel to retain having a substantial say in the club I imagine the investors were delighted with our showing against Man City and our current form that has moved discussions to this level.
Ling 😂

Of course they won’t retain Wellens longer term, these things never pan out like that.

And no, Nigel gives up his substantial say when he takes their millions. Thats how these things work. Him and Kent will be given the Hearns chairs up on the balcony, that’ll be it.
That depends if they sell a majority stake. Even if they do, they can still insist on being on the Board
The new investors will take a majority stake, they've already said that. Kent is on his way out and has been for 4 years - he was 50/50 with Nigel in 2017 and is now down to less than 25%. It's pretty likely that one of the terms Nigel will insist on is some sort of guarantee for the back office staff for a period of time. Wellens' contract is already time-bound, which makes it a different matter to the likes of Ling, Devlin et al.

A lot will depend on what is meant by the majority. A 50.1% majority will mean a more consensual approach than a 70% plus one would. I can see all the yank investors taking the pay out and Nigel retaining some shares, both to retain influence/involvement but also as a family investment to keep the link and pass to the kids.

Any location other than Brisbane road isn't what we want.
However Hearn fooked that up.
LBWF have identified 3 sites & I'll personally be happy with any of them.

These days it will have to have a place for helicopters to land I am told for various reasons. I cannot think of any land in the borough to build a stadium.
The old Essex cricket ground near Leyton midland station, Ive farm sports ground, Jubilee park just off Orient way, next to Spialfields market, on the marshes.
There's a few options in the local vancinity
Wouldn't think the old Essex ground was an option, isn't the building listed?
There is room west of Spitalfields, building on a marsh? Ive Farm is a possibility. Maybe they could open the Antelope.

I had a questionnaire put through my letter box a couple of years ago about building a new school behind the waterworks in Leabridge Rd . For whatever reason the school wasn’t built . Maybe the new stadium could go there . If it did go there it would only be two goal kicks away from the clubs old Millfields ground

Everyone assuming:
A) a new owner will want to fork out on a new stadium for a team who get an average of about 7000 a game.
B) would be as committed to the area as NT is.

I'm looking forward to being debt free.

It will be quite the deal that sees Eagle Investments recoup their £19.9m in loans.

We already have somewhere for a Helicopter to land & take off.
It's the big green thing between the 4 sides, like when the Helicopter took off from the pitch the night the Leicester owner died
The helicopter involved in that crash didn’t take off from the Breyer Stadium. I don’t think that kind of thing is allowed since then anyhow so they will need launch pads near to a new ground. Personally I think it was a one off that accident. Once that little blad goes at the back you have had it. I am more worried about the steps going down to tube next to the station after a game . I have nearly gone flying lots times there.

Travis has been explicit in saying the takeover will be linked to a new ground. The sites identified are definitely within the borough as he's been explicit on this as well.

Again, they won't be ponying up the entirety of the cash. We'll incur a lot of debt in moving even if the new owners put in 'only' 10-20m towards the stadium.

My uninformed guess would be a deal with the Hockey Association to build a new stadium at Eton Manor. There already a small stadium there plus tennis courts and lots of parking. Add in pedestrian underpass below the railway into Asda Car Park and you have a 5 to 7 min walk from Tube to Stadium.

Why would anyone put tens of millions of pounds in with no tangible assets to sell/borrow against in the future?

Any new ground would be wrapped into wider development of a site, so gives a short and potentially long term income stream to new owners.

There is plenty of undeveloped land in that area. I can't see why they would remove part of the Olympic legacy when there are alternatives available.

Skeptical that Travis would sell to someone who is proposing the new ground is 100% debt financed from a commercial lender. Have seen from Everton how risky that approach is. At the very least, there'll be a guarantee of interest free loans.

You’d hope it would be debt free, but not many investors would go down that route.

The massive amount of carparking space around the stadium is much easier, less expensive and less controversial to develop than a community sports facility that is an Olympic legacy venue. The massive retail park next to Leyton station that is already scheduled for redevelopment by the Council. The New Spittalfields market which was originally scheduled to be moved out to Dagenham (and may now stay, but is again a more obvious candidate). The industrial estate off Simonds Road.

I can't see the argument for spending tens of millions more in relocating an existing sports facility when there are much easier wins to be had. But I could be wrong.

I honestly cannot see any of what you quote big enough or suitable . Too many difficulties in place already, new flats , parking and so on. Can only think of outside borough which would be disastrous as a Leyton Club. Very big problem

Too much speculation on this thread based on so little information. As I trust Ritchie to get it right on the field I trust Nigel to get it right off it. My faith is based on the fact that this will be his lasting legacy and as a real fan it matters to him.

Time will tell.
