The only good thing about moving to a new ground is we won’t have to let the current landlord in for the big games. The new owners could win us all over immediately by issuing the pair of them with a banning order.

What they might have done is informally given a green light to a site identified for housing to be used for something else, tied in with housing.

No prospective owner is going to be paying for the ground outright with their cash. They might put some equity into the club to act as a cash injection to get the ball rolling with the expectation they get a return later. And no way is the club worth 30m.

Interesting times. Again, more interested in what their long term plans would be for the club, as opposed to whether we can spend an extra million or two for a few seasons. We need to have a plan to grow the club so that we are earning enough outright to compete at this level and feasibly be ok at championship level. Whether that's a new ground or whizzy new way of recruiting remains to be seen.
Any location other than Brisbane road isn't what we want.
However Hearn fooked that up.
LBWF have identified 3 sites & I'll personally be happy with any of them.
These days it will have to have a place for helicopters to land I am told for various reasons. I cannot think of any land in the borough to build a stadium.

That was my initial reaction. I can understand that the stock of the club is the highest it's been in over a decade. And that a suspension of financial activity for up to two months is needed.
If it affects the thinking of the players and coaches in the most miniscule way, then it's an unwanted distraction right now.

Why is ‘financial activity’, whatever that means, suspended for 2 months?

Just means don’t spunk up the assets in any way - just everyday business transactions. With transfer deadline day behind us the only real variables imo could be; sponsorship deals, change of manager or CEO.

The period of exclusivity just means the club do not talk to any other potential purchaser/investor, whilst the potential purchaser carries out their DD.

The club carries on with business as normal.

We already have somewhere for a Helicopter to land & take off.
It's the big green thing between the 4 sides, like when the Helicopter took off from the pitch the night the Leicester owner died

Seen plenty of deals get to this stage and fall through it means there is enough interest on both sides to commit to full financial disclosure and any financial commitments the Os take on now have to be fully disclosed to the potential buyer.
Still a fair way off a takeover being confirmed If it happens likely to be in the summer and then it goes to the EFL who need to do their fit and proper ownership test (it’s pointless). So promising but as long as things go well months away not weeks.

I love your optimism but as we’ve no idea who is involved and their intentions, I’m going to hold back just for now.

Wonder if the current stadium sponsors, the Gaughan Group, will be involved in any new stadium construction as I think this is the field they specialise in.

I'm not a sponsor, but I'm willing to operate a big digger for the day at our new location for a £20 fee.

By doing so I can boast to all and sundry that I built New Brisbane Road and the club get to bleed me for 20 bucks. Win/win.

Part of the take over must be to be to secure the services of Ling and Wellens. Remember what happened to Russell Slade. Part of the deal must also include Nigel to retain having a substantial say in the club I imagine the investors were delighted with our showing against Man City and our current form that has moved discussions to this level.

The helicopter involved in that crash didn’t take off from the Breyer Stadium. I don’t think that kind of thing is allowed since then anyhow so they will need launch pads near to a new ground. Personally I think it was a one off that accident. Once that little blad goes at the back you have had it. I am more worried about the steps going down to tube next to the station after a game . I have nearly gone flying lots times there.

Ling 😂

Of course they won’t retain Wellens longer term, these things never pan out like that.

And no, Nigel gives up his substantial say when he takes their millions. Thats how these things work. Him and Kent will be given the Hearns chairs up on the balcony, that’ll be it.

Let’s hope it’s more Wrexham/Birmingham than Terry Smith
Kinell, forgot about him. 3 captains, one each for defense (deeFENCE), midfield and forwards. Didn't he try playing for them as well?
Thought playing American Football in 80s would make him a good manager. Put out pre-match meals of pizza and Maryland cookies, made players recite The Lord’s Prayer before every team talk

Then sold the club to a family of Scouse money launderers who bankrupted the club and put them out of existence.
I watched that documentary on him fairly recently. Everything about it is gloriously entertaining - from the awful captain tactics, the Frasier series 1 haircut in the 21st century, his inability to kick a ball and the post game team talk of "this is the worst performance I ever dang seen". His Wikipedia page is pretty entertaining as well, as it's clear he wrote it himself.

The Vaughan's coming in and killing the club wasn't so good in the end. Especially when the old man was banned from being a company director so gave it to his son, who was the captain of the team at the time.

Doesn’t ring true he’s not that wealthy!
allegedly David Gandler has an estimated net worth of at least $43.9 million*, as of Feb. 12, 2025

So yes, not wealthy enough to fund a new stadium, but considerably higher net worth than current owners, and also this doesnt factor in the fact hes just sold around 70% of Fubo to Disney, and also we dont know who else is involved with the group

However, this is ALL speculation

That depends if they do end up selling a majority stake. Even if they do, they can still insist on being on the Board
