It means yes, we have found investors. We are satisfied they are serious and have the dosh.
Those investors now wish to do their own due diligence on the club safe in the knowledge that someone can’t sneak in and outbid them etc
Due diligence will include the finances of the club, the running of the club, checking there will be no efl hindrance, examining the new ground options, speaking with WF council on the options, speaking with any minority shareholders etc etc

After all they did purchase the Ladies team, they may have got the taste for it and put a consortium together.
Makes sense, Nigel knows the Eastdil guy, he is a real estate guy and has a few bob on his hip!

Don’t disagree that Nigel will be much more thorough than Hearn. Also sounds like he will stay on as a minority shareholder from the wording of the statement.Loyal_Supporter wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 7:41 pmI know what you mean but I have a BIG feeling that NT would do a lot more due diligence then Hearn did.HackneyO wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 7:32 pmThere’s not much Nigel can do beyond due diligence up to the sale. How much more? You won’t be putting up with your ST going up £100+RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 6:51 pmMore expensive, yes, probably but look at the fantastic football we’re watching. if we want to go to the next level we has supporters have to expect to pay more. Its what is needed to take the club to the next level. I think he will stay involved at a minor level and stays on the board.
Hopefully this goes better than the last time the club were knocking on the door of the Championship… Things are about the get a lot more expensive for the fans.

Re: Takeover
Big difference between Hearn selling the club and Travis is that Hearn was just in it for the money, whereas Travis is a fan. Have completely faith that Travis will not only be selling to a respectable group, he will also remain involved and on the board

Re: Takeover
The new guys are going to need a minimum of £150m-£200m
£100m, cost of site fir new ground and its construction
£20m wipe out existing debts
£30m Buying majority ownership off T&T etc
£50m back team, cover losses next few years etc
£200m covers it, with not a great deal of leeway

Re: Takeover
The timing makes sense, by the time the due diligence by both parties are done and the legal bits and bobs, it will be closed season.
The new people will know what league we will compete in and gives them time for funds to be made available to compete in which ever league.

They are also real estate guys so the new stadium would be very much of interest to them and as they have experience and expertise in that field they will be ideal investment in the club (The Eastdil guy also seem to be a good egg and friend of Nigel's)Bandy Legs wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 8:10 pm Well if it is Eastdil they've got a few quid

I think Waltham forest will end up giving us a piece of land to keep us in the borough. Hopefully it will be a similar deal to the one we had on Brisbane rd, which was peppercorn rent for 999yearsHackneyO wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 8:15 pm£100m for a new stadium is ambitious. “For those of you interested, the final cost of building the Anfield Road End stand came in at circa £100 million,” Miller said.

Re: Takeover
The council won't have much land to give, it probably wouldn't be in a location we'd want, and even if it was, every local authority is looking to maximize income at the moment. That won't happen.
What they might have done is informally given a green light to a site identified for housing to be used for something else, tied in with housing.
No prospective owner is going to be paying for the ground outright with their cash. They might put some equity into the club to act as a cash injection to get the ball rolling with the expectation they get a return later. And no way is the club worth 30m.
Interesting times. Again, more interested in what their long term plans would be for the club, as opposed to whether we can spend an extra million or two for a few seasons. We need to have a plan to grow the club so that we are earning enough outright to compete at this level and feasibly be ok at championship level. Whether that's a new ground or whizzy new way of recruiting remains to be seen.

Construct inflation is about 30% since COVID. Anything less than £100m would either be a miracle or mean we've 'value engineered' the thing to the point where the south stand facilities look palatial.PKM wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 8:24 pmWe quote Brentford as our model, £71m for their plus, presumably, cost of landHackneyO wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 8:15 pm£100m for a new stadium is ambitious.
