Crowd last night
Bit disappointed with the nos last night. Yes cold & in February & midweek but I was expecting more. Lots of whining about no tickets for the cup but the bread & butter matches playewrs deserved more. Well done to those that did attend

Re: Crowd last night
A cold damp February evening, and it’s on Sky. No wonder a lot of people gave it a miss. Happily I don’t have Sky and I can’t do Saturdays cos of work, so I say there last night and got bloody cold. Enjoyed it though.
No way was there 6500 there

Re: Crowd last night
Yeah, the place was half empty. The true number will have started with a 4.
That said, we were quite loud for the numbers, but it made for a really stark drop off from Saturday in terms of intensity in the stands.
Next Saturday will be interesting though in terms of (actual) attendance - third home match in quick succession, but last one for a couple of weeks.

Re: Crowd last night
As I’ve said countless times before people like me can’t make midweek games due to work commitments. I’ve already got a bad work record because I’ve swung the lead in the past to get to a midweek game . I have to be careful now in case I need to take the piss again to get to a potential midweek play off gameLifelongfan wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 4:22 pm Bit disappointed with the nos last night. I agree. The fans that were there were loud. It was the half and half mob that were missingRich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 4:26 pm I’m currently off work sick cos I went. Tbf my first game for ages.

I went last night but didn’t have access to a Man City ticket.
Was the away attendance given as 551? It looked half that at most.

Last Tuesday night match of the season. Moving forward each game should be a sell out.

Re: Crowd last night
It’s too easy nowadays for fans to watch matches from their armchairs with Sky covering most of our games.
Three home games in a week will also test fans finances, maybe a discount deal for Tuesday night games ??

Barely 5,000 I thought. Those that braved it were rewarded, though for sure it was freezing...

Re: Crowd last night
reflects where the club's core support is based nowadays. It was a cold damp Feb night in Southend - yet they only had 200 less than us - and they are a middling Conference league team - but most of their support is probably based in or around the town.

Re: Crowd last night
They only open the Ticket Exchange when it's looking like a sell out - there are still empty blocks in the East and West, so not sure it will happen now.

Didn't think it was that cold, maybe the 3 goals made me feel warmerScuba Diver wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 9:06 pmBarely 5,000 I thought. Those that braved it were rewarded, though for sure it was freezing...

Re: Crowd last night
Probably one of my sillier ideas, Ron, but I decided to walk to the ground from work (by the Gherkin), so by the time game ended I'd been outside for hours and hours in little more than a suit.BIGRON wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 10:22 amDidn't think it was that cold, maybe the 3 goals made me feel warmerScuba Diver wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 9:06 pmBarely 5,000 I thought. The goals warmed us no doubt... God knows how cold I'd have been if we'd experienced a 0-3.....

Re: Crowd last night
Their catchment area is massive (circa 230k), and as you say many can walk to the ground.
They're still experiencing the siege mentality/we're all in this together thing that happens when relegation to the Conference ensues I think..
Much of our support travels in from Essex, and I guess those with children don't want little johnny getting to bed at post 11pm - fair enough..

Re: Crowd last night
They've been down for what, 4 years now? Would expect that feeling has worn off by now.
