But why? The bloke had a decent career as professional player and has had a few managerial jobs now. Is he seriously thin skinned enough to care what people on here write? I find that very hard to believe.
Maybe listen to his interviews on Orient World. He has often commented on remarks made by fans about his decisions.

The fact he had a decent career as a professional (and let's be honest, the reason he played top flight football was his understanding of the game, not his athleticism or technical ability) is exactly why he gets riled up by know-nothing no marks genuinely believing they know more than him.

Bichie takes a back seat and suddenly our form improves dramatically. Funny that.

Commenting on fans remarks and getting riled by them isn't very professional. He should try to understand that.

Just had a text from Richie, totally out of the blue, which I reproduce in full and verbatim for you here:

“Will you tell those clowns on the message board to give their head a wobble? I’ve been reading everything they say for months now and they need to understand I don’t give a toss what any of them think, least of all you!”

I wonder if our summer recruitment was delayed because somebody was away having a hair transplant?

That just makes it even stranger. Surely a guy who has been heavily involved in professional football for a quarter of a century should have learnt by now that putting up with know-nothing loudmouths opining is part and parcel of the job. Surely he has learnt to just ignore it by now?

I've it before and I'll say it again , Richie is one of the best managers this club has ever had . If Richie left we'd get relegated for sure . I don't blame the manager for our blight , I blame the board . Our recruitment during the Summer was pants . You could see we were going to hit trouble by the calibre of signings we were making . TBH, I can't see our recruitment being any better in January so we're in deep sh*t this season .
Why blame the board for our recruitment?
Lack of funds . We couldn't compete during the Summer in the transfer market and so now we can't compete on the pitch . I'm not talking about the likes of Birmingham and Wrexham but clubs like Mansfield and Bristol Rovers who we couldn't compete with . Now we're paying for it .
Mansfield Bristol Rovers LOL

Bring in only 2 players on contracts we lose cover.
Hemming being sh*t didn't help so we had to get Keely .
Comes back to whether they're actually good enough to be useful though or just padding out bench places.

Hemming - no comment
Keeley - promising
Currie - good (though should be signing a permanent LB)
Donley - first time loan, struggling
Perkins - first time loan to all intents, struggling
Kelman - current top scorer

So would you take 3 loanees and one quality pro or those 6 but only half are really performing at the level required.

The other thing Richie has touched on is come summer you also end up with far too much squad churn, especially in those spine positions like the GK and LB. Think it works out we'll need10+ players come summer between loans and contracts ending.
Donley- struggling?

Recruitment is down to unrealistic budget needed to bring in the quality of players needed at this level, that’s totally down to NT.You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear, in my opinion NT is way out of his depth and should have looked for massive investment as soon as we were promoted to League 1.
The budget level is fine. It’s just being wasted.

This season we are paying Moncur, Piggot, Theo, Graham, Donley and Hemming, all of whom are contributing the sum total of zero to our efforts. You then have the likes of Warrington and Perkins who Richie hasn’t trusted to start games until recently (and having seen them play, he was right). Then you have DJ, who Richie still doesn’t trust to start a game.
Donley contributing zero LOL

Desperate stuff. Even Wellens has been super clear about how much Donley has improved over the past few months, nothing you're highlighting is a) wrong or b) equal to people saying Wellens was rubbish and should be sacked.

I wonder what changed for Hoover between:

- Nov’24: saying that Ling and others needed to look at themselves for the terrible recruitment
- Feb’25: saying that Ling’s only role in recruitment is the paperwork.

Yes he was, very much. So much so that he wasn’t featuring and Richie gave him a rocket.

Today is turning into a very strange day because I agree with everything you’ve just said her. Very well put.

Digging up comments people made when we were in a bad run of form now that we are on a good run to say “haha look how wrong you are” is immensely stupid.

You've missed the bit where he says Perkins is rubbish back in late '24 and his new found wonderment at how good he is in 'early 25.

Perkins is still, comparatively, rubbish. He's just playing in a very good team.
