No recall clause in Pigott's loan, speaks volumes about just how much the club wanted him off the booksPugwash wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 12:27 pmGet Pigott back then, screaming for a forward when weve let forwards like Smith & Pigott go already, we dont need any type of the shiteloads out of contract. Wellens wants a specific type. Fans freaking out does nothing

I've FYPPugwash wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 1:26 pmHe's a sh*t forward. Some are crying like a baby with a soiled nappy. The right type of forward is what Wellens has consistantly said, not any Joe willy or Harry. Did you miss the comma?LittleMate wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 1:20 pmYour statement is illogical. Get Pigott back - who's clearly not the specific type Wellens wants..

Wellens said post Stevenage that a bid had been turned down so they were moving on. By who and for who remains a mystery.

Re: Azeem Abdulai - set to sign?
I don't fully understand the timings of this signing. I get it that Warrington hasn't worked out yet, Pratley may retire soon, Galbraith could be off in the summer, and we still need a replacement for El Mizouni. So it makes sense if we're building for next season.
But surely wingers and a number 9 are the priority right now? Abdulai is described by himself and his former manager as a box to box midfielder who's suffered from playing out of position, yet RW was going to play him in the 10 role against Stevenage.
Building for next season - great signing. I was under the impression that we were going for a play-off push this season though.

Let’s see him play a few times before we write off his abilities to help us this season.
It sounds like a very decent signing to me, time will tell as ever.

Re: Azeem Abdulai - set to sign?
Azeem Abdulai (CM) - [Swansea - Leyton Orient] - Undis
The 22-year-old has been handed minutes here and there as a winger for Swansea, but that’s not where Luke Williams saw him playing in the long-term – neither out wide, nor at Swansea. He signs a three-year deal at Orient, and it looks like he’ll be taking up more a box-to-box role for the O’s.
Richie Wellens’ squad is a thin one, and Abdulai not only adds another body into the mix, but an athletic body at that. He has a powerful build and the physical attributes needed to make a fist of League One and beyond – it’s no surprise that he played a lot of his youth football at centre-half. He was once courted by top-flight sides, and if he can show his strong technique at Orient, this could be a very smart signing for the League One play-off hopefuls.

If he's seen as a box to box midfielder then he could be our replacement for El-Miz . Please God he ends up being as good . Obviously he will need some time to bed in and get up to speed .essexfootball wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 8:00 am Azeem Abdulai (CM) - [Swansea - Leyton Orient] - Undis

It gives us other options - different formations, freeing up other midfielders.Berin wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 7:21 pm I don't fully understand the timings of this signing. Genuinely can't understand people querying this.

Re: Azeem Abdulai - set to sign?
Fixed that for you, harsh truth is he didn't even impress at NL level in the first half of his loan so career trajectory only headed downward at this point. A great shame given his talent but that's how it's ended up.

Did really well today, especially for a debut...
A powerful and combative presence - and a real pest for Reading I thought..

Looks too good for L1 already and Richie hasn’t even started working with him. Really excited to see him develop.
