Is that the one with the kid who has an accident and is given a walking stick but forgets which leg it is and doesn't limp at all.

I'm rewatching S1 before I start that

Dylan: You? The king of fucks don’t trust us?
Burt: I do.

00:34:18
Burt: But people just talk about MDR. Stupid old stories, jokes even.

00:34:24
Irving: What do you mean?

00:34:25
Burt: I… It’s literally silly. Like, they say you all have pouches.

00:34:32
Irving: Pouches? Like to c-carry young?
Burt: Yes.

00:34:36
Burt: According to some, you each have a larval offspring that will jump out and attack if we get too close.

Watched the first 2 eps of American Primeval on Netflix last night. Horrible, but really good. Something about that era that always fascinates and already touching on a few things I had little idea about, such as the Mormon militias.

Season one was slow to start, with gradual revealing of the story over multiple episodes.

Finished this. Loved it, although the very end was something you could see coming an absolute mile off, which was a bit of a shame.

3 episodes in and that woman who's banging on about getting to Cooks Spings with her son needs to learn to shut the f*ck up and do as she's told.

I hope I don't ruin things too much by saying this theme does continue and I may have shouted at the telly once or twice.

I'd posted that before seeeing the end of ep 3, in which F*cking Annoying Woman gets taught a lesson, only to transform into Girl Boss trope and single handedly taken down several opponents regardless of numerical and strength disadvantage.

Episode 4 confirms my fears. The injuns are all cast as the "noble savage" trope, who never knew fear, death, disease, war and suffering until the evil white people showed up.

But, thankfully for them, they have White Saviour Woman who, having spent a couple of days as their captive and witnessed her friends having their throats cut, discovers a new found respect for their "noble ways". And, what's more, they suddenly start listening to her as if she's some Oracle.

It's brilliantly shot and directed, but the writing is cringe as f*ck. I suspect a purple-haired Disney writer or two, who have recently been made redundant, were employed and they just couldn't shake off their old ways.

I saw Pearl on the big screen when it came out and just watched it again on Netflix.

Mia Goth just owns it, she is brilliant

Can I just mention Departure which has just appeared on Netflix. Mrs FTC had this on a few nights ago and I can heartily recommend that you avoid this utter turdfest at all costs.

Dreadful acting with huge holes in the plotlines - not seen anything this bad since Amy Turtle left Crossroads Motel in 1977 to get some Ajax for the kitchen sink and wasn't seen again until christmas 1980.

Clearly designed for the dumbest of American audiences. Christopher Plummer died shortly after finishing in Series 1 and 2. Presumably from the shame of appearing in it.

More worryingly, Mrs FTC thought it was decent.

Having watched this all in one evening, I'd have shot her at the end of episode 2. I did like the red indian girl - mainly because she couldn't speak.
