When the government lose the big
vote tonight, no doubt the clown Johnson will try for a general election.
However there will have to be a vote on that, in which unless Labour vote for it, cannot happen
Labour would be mad to want an election at this time, at a time that suits Johnson .
So we could have a lame duck prime minister with no majority, who is under parliament's thumb.
The opposition should take a vote on withdrawing article 50, to finally end this dangerous nonsense called Brexit
He's been calling for a GE since the day after the last one.
It'd be hilarious to see he him do a 180 and to see the leader of the opposition voting against a GE
point nine one eight said "And you think a Corblimy led government would be more credible, Dream on "
Before you comment on this Board, mate, I suggest you learn the art of reading. I have not thought anything like your suggestion. Oh! I see you are able to read the mind of someone who writes behind the anonymity of this message board. Obviously a pretty smart geezer!

I see nothing remotely hilarious about the position Cameron's pointless Referendum has led us to ( Pointless because, what is the point of a Referendum if you are unable to deliver the majority's wishes ? He knew that- hence once the result was published, it was a case of " I'm out of here " ) Politics at it's lowest ebb.
Johnson was, I understand, given 30 days to offer an alternative and viable solution. So having suggested one it can’t be considered as wobbling, merely trying to deliver based on the chat he had with the leader of the EU. Merkal. Whether it’s any good , who knows.

Johnson is meant to be forcing the EU to change there minds & give him a better deal
by threatening NO DEAL.

it's a massive wobble Doh
I’m no Johnson lover but it is beyond dispute that he agreed with merkal over the 30 days a timeframe for him to come up with an alternative. So he has come up with one as he said he would. That is not a wobble as you very well know, but doing what he said he would.
Who knows if it will make any difference. But he promised an alternative and that is what he has done. He is threatening a no deal, that does not mean he wants a no deal, just that he will accept it. In the meantime the horse trading goes on.

Meltdown. Labour should not give him any GE before Oct 31st. Make him grovel for an extension. He got the UK into this mess, along with Gove, Rees Mogg, Farage and dirty money and interference from abroad and clowns like Banks and Wigmore. Expelling Churchill grandson. That's taking your country back alrite.
Any semblance of 'One Nation' conservatism has now disappeared, whats left is out for what it can make. The whole sorry mess has been about what is best for the party regardless of the collateral damage to the country. The casting adrift of senior and able politicians in a feat of stunning hypocracy has, in all probabilty, lost them the next election. Many of them will stand again and their electorate will back them and even if they don't win the seat they will take away enough votes to make sure the Tory stooge put up in their place does not win either.
I look forward to the Dominic Cummings 'Treason Trial', after all the rest of the blame shifting he will be the last to go.

But he won't grovel for an extension. He will just go in and say parliament wants an extension, but as you know i do not. Europe wants an extension as they receive £1bn a month for the extension. Think what could be done with £3bn.
Is it unreasonable to expel 21 Conservative MPs when they have effectively brought down their own government, emasculating it in any attempt to negotiate a withdrawal agreement with the European Union? This effectively destroys any prospect of leaving the EU thereby contemptuously disenfranchising the electorate of the United Kingdom.
Eight of these 21 were members of May's cabinet, indicating just how flawed and dishonest that entity was. Indeed, it became apparent yesterday that the former Chancellor had been seeking and accepting legal advice from the European Union's lawyers.
It's not a question about one nation conservatism, it's a matter of treason.

Great post other than the simple truth that they haven't been expelled. They've had the whip removed.
If only your posts concentrated more on reason than treason.

The thing is, I still cant see either party wining an overall majority in a GE. For Brexiteers, a Labour-led government may now be their best chance of leaving the EU. They'll just need to accept that it will be with a WA deal which, given the close referendum result, is probably the right outcome.
But the problem is that it will soon become obvious to anyone paying close attention that any deal we strike with the EU will always be inferior to the one we currently enjoy. That's why for true Brexiteers, only a no-deal exit makes sense. Oh well.
