If I had any confidence Starmer will make it to the next election, I'd be all over this as Furrage is definitely getting in at the next vote. As terrifying as that may seem.

And so out of step with the shift in society. Imagine it literally only appeals to Boomers/retirees.
Which pretty much sums up the core membership of the Tory party who voted for her.
An utter shambles of a party. Once they merge with Reform they should be fine.

The whole thing is proper hilarious.

Numpties were conned by Furrage before 2016 into think he wanted less immigration. Following Brexit, immigration has hit levels they would never have believed possible prior to 2016. So they are understandably angry about it.

Their solution? Two copies of Furrage!

Immigration from the EU is substantially down. Infact didn’t the last figures show a negative for EU citizens ?. The reason immigration has increased is because of an increase in numbers from Africa and Asia to replace the shortfall after Brexit.

It’s staggering that unchecked and unregulated immigration continues whilst she digs out the very groups of immigrants that we welcome with open arms.

Do you know the figures for the numbers here illegally. Do you believe that checks for criminality are carried out for everyone entering. Is grooming in Pakistan even a crime ?

Nope - sorry that's not an answer. You stated that it was "unchecked and unregulated", which it clearly isn't. If it were, there'd be no smuggling gangs , no small boats, no asylum backlog. Terms matter, and immigration is neither unchecked nor unregulated.

You may not like the people coming in, but trying to portray it as an open door is just stupid (but is, helpfully, regurgitating the nonsense spouted by every 2-bob halfwit on the far right.

And I did not say I didn’t like the people coming in and neither am I far right. I simply find it staggering that we can allow criminals into the UK and then have a party leader complain when they commit a criminal act.

Probably. If you arrive by any other route there are none. But I doubt those that are grooming have decided to become a groomer since arriving. I expect many were sexual deviants in their country of origin. Is there a worldwide crime database ? After Brexit we were being refused access to the European one.

Spike is right. Current levels of immigration are as a direct result of government policy. Regardless of your views on immigration and immigrants, this is by design, so is not uncontrolled or unchecked (aside from those who wash up on the southern coast, which is still factored into immigration policy as an acceptable cost).

Boris Johnson, the darling of UK conservatives, was the chief architect of the recent record highs. He approved these levels to satisfy "business concerns" regarding a shortage of workers and the risk of wage inflation. Although, in doing so, he finally put to bed the myth that mass immigration does not supress average wages.

Yes. To be clear I was referring to criminality checks rather than right to be here checks.

Background checks are very time consuming and expensive for migration control. Plus, as you increase the intake from countries with poor institutional capacity for law enforcement and record keeping, it becomes a waste of time. And that's assuming somebody has bene convicted of an offence previously.

But, this is a known risk that will have been priced into the previous and government's approach to immigration. If you're going to have mass immigration then you'll need to accept the rough with the smooth.
