A season of two halves to date

We’ve played 20 league games to date

First 10, gained 8 points.
Scored 10 goals. Conceded 14 goals.
0.8 pts per match, which is relegation form

Second 10 matches, gained 17 points
Scored 13 goals, conceded 6 goals
1.7 pts per match, which is play off form.

The turn round is quite spectacular, over double the points per match in last 10 compared to first 10.

The first 10 featured Hemming in goal
The last 10 featured Keeley.
Now I’m not pinning all the blame on Hemming, but his mistakes undoubtedly cost us. Keeley has been more assured and given the defence more confidence. There are other factors for and against, eg improvement in loan signings Donley and Perkins, somewhat balanced by loss of Clare for second 10 matches. Improvement in performances from the likes of O’Neill, Agyei, Ball to name but a few and, ofcourse, the very tough start we had didn’t help the first 10 matches.
Hopefully we can continue this progress hopefully aided by a few decent signings in the impending transfer window, wingers being are number 1 priority.

Could be, although prior to the Oldham match we were showing signs of life, with 7 points from previous 4 matches, good wins at home to Rotherham & Blackpool, draw at Stevenage with only the defeat at Wycombe blotting our copy book.
But the Oldham match has definitely given everyone a massive uplift, so not to be underestimated.

Same points before Christmas as last season but from 20 games instead of 22 & goal difference +3 against -9.
Win against Shrewsbury Cambridge Crawley Stevenage Reading & knick points at Peterboro Exeter & Bristol Rovers the 1st of Febuary could leave us in a very healthy position.
We need to make the home games count for sure

Yes that's spot on, I couldn't pinpoint what game the turnaround was last season, now I remember it was the two OGs that turned an awful loss into a vital win

Amazing to think had Keeley stayed in his goal against Oldham where we might be now

Next up a very interesting transfer window

Keeley - are the rumours true that we sign him permanently, hopefully
Currie - will Oxford recall him? Hopefully he stays until end of season
Galbraith - will anyone submit an offer?
Agyei - in good form and out of contract at the end of the season, can we keep hold of him or will the club cash in if an offer comes our way?
Striker - will we finally sign one in January?
