Re: The latest price of a Bit-coin.
For once in my life I’ve been sensible. I’ve probably invested 3.5k over 6 years. I’ve taken about 5k out so I’m up. Got over double that in my account.CEB2ElectricBoogaloo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 9:57 am What is your (anyone who invested) plan for when you will decide to take the money and have it as actual money?
I still just don’t get it because it just feels like a glorified pyramid scheme
I’m a bit if a traitor but I sell the odd bit so I feel like I’m making actual money. I’ve made 4K in a month and sold off 1k and let the rest roll. Technically it’s a mistake because it’s gone up since I’ve sold and long term it’s probably not the greatest plan but it makes me feel like I’m getting something tangible out of it

Re: The latest price of a Bit-coin.
Just because its gone up after you sold does not make it a mistake. Nobody can ever predict the top (or bottom) of a price fluctuation. As long as you are comfortable with your profit level (and equally comfortable when it drifts into loss territory) then you are doing well.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 10:55 pmFor once in my life I’ve been sensible. Not a crypto man myself (shares and investment trusts for me) but I'm kinda glad I avoided the roller coaster of crypto - although fair play to those making good money from it.

As per OTB above it’s a bit of a fun fund where you can dip in to help pay for holidays etc every now and then and then topping it back up when you can afford/price dictates

Its not fun, you are propping up the currency of choice for criminals (org crime, drugs, fraudsters, hackers and rogue states) and destroying the environment. And its because you're greedy.

So you’ve decided to miss the boat because of your morals and ethics?Long slender neck wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 8:46 am Its not fun, you are propping up the currency of choice for criminals (org crime, drugs, fraudsters, hackers and rogue states) and destroying the environment. All of the above was nonsense put about by those that didn’t want digital currency to take over the established state of things. But no one is spouting that anymore. Even America are in the process of announcing they’re on board (presumably they already are but they’re about to go public).

Making an argument for fiat currency on the basis that it’s free of use by organised crime, fraudsters et al and the pursuit of it does no damage to the environment is quite a take

Morals and ethics yes, not something an accountant would understand. Of course not, but at least it has a use besides criminality.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 9:01 am Making an argument for fiat currency on the basis that it’s free of use by organised crime, fraudsters et al and the pursuit of it does no damage to the environment is quite a take

Crypto has a use as well, 1. Hedge against inflation 2. Pure speculation 3. Vehicle to the moonLong slender neck wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 9:21 amOf course not, but at least it has a use besides criminality.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 9:01 am Making an argument for fiat currency on the basis that it’s free of use by organised crime, fraudsters et al and the pursuit of it does no damage to the environment is quite a take
You accept fiat is the “currency of choice” for criminals?
