Pretty obvious I'm not defending Biden here, but if RD is gonna talk about men in close proximity to power going for underage girls, worth asking the question on whether he thinks Trump nominating a nonce for a senior administration role is an issue.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 11:33 amHi Terry, had a feeling I’d see you hereMistadobalina wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 11:20 am Heaven forbid a president sticks his neck out for a nonce.

Think Biden has thought f*ck it I'm not long for this world and the Democrats stitched me up over running again so why would I owe them loyalty over my family. Which goes to show how insane presidential powers are in the US.

Gaetz isn’t Trump’s son; Gaetz hasn’t been convicted despite clearly being a wrgonun; Trump didn’t spend months saying he definitively wouldn’t pardon Gaetz before doing it; Trump hasn’t spent the last 5 years claiming the moral high ground; Gaetz doesn’t now have immunity for a decade of potential crimes that cannot now be investigated.

Re: Harris v. Trump
In terms of public discourse, “no morals” or “disregarding ethics completely” will always win against “selective morals” or “ethics are important until they’re in the way”
There’s no point whatsoever in the Democrats ever taking issue with the Trump administration’s ethics if they are making themselves ripe for accusations of hypocrisy. The difficult conversation should have been had between Biden and his son that he simply shouldn’t have the right to pardon his son

It's hard to imagine how the Democrats could have f*cked things up for themselves more than what they've done over the past six months.

By which date will these events happen? When can we judge this? And by which measure?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 5:39 pmJust watch , he will get America flying . I am not Nostradamus so I can’t give you an exact time and date but we’ll see where America are at the end of Trump’s four years in office. We can talk about it again then.

Narrator's voice: America did not fly. But it didn't matter, because the Maga cranks claimed it did anyway.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 5:39 pmJust watch , he will get America flying . Multiple studies have concluded that his tariffs actually ended up reducing GDP, increasing the cost of consumer goods (obviously) and, in net terms, costing hundreds of thousands of American jobs. He’s absolutely clueless RE: economicsRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 8:24 amOne who proved a good President before and had a grasp on economics .Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 11:09 pm Lucky the normal, decent communicator got in, I guess.

The number of interviews I've seen with Maga types all saying how great tariffs are until it's explained to them what this actually means for American businesses is hilarious. Their minds get fried, they all agree it's bad, but then the brain glitches and they still say it's good because Trump. Fascinating.

Drill baby drill . Regardless, with cheap fuel America will be doing just fine under Trump . Meanwhile, we’re going to get our bollocks broken trying to reach impossible net zero targets. I suppose you can always blame Brexit for Labour’s ( Miliband’s ) insanity.

The UK Government not only has to think about its relationship with the US, but it will be keeping a nervous eye on the economic, political and demographic turmoil unfolding in France and Germany.
And, if that's not enough, we appear to be witnessing what could be the re-emergence of Ottoman v Persian conflict for dominance in the Middle East, with the potential to disrupt trade routes and oil supplies.
