Re: Derby at home
Tonked us twice last season. The gulf in class at their place was huge. We’re worse than we were, I’m assuming they’ve strengthened?

Our only hope is they want to prioritise their championship survival and play a weakened team.
But it is the fa cup after all. Who knows

Re: Derby at home
It will be interesting to see how the club price this.
I hope they don’t get delusions of grandeur as it’s the 3rd round and try to charge Birmingham fixture prices (£32).
For me, if it’s over 20 quid I won’t be going. Not sure you can more than double the prices from R2 to R3 (especially as it’s not a glamour tie).

Make it retro day and offer 1975 prices for the tickets and the programme! To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of playing Derby in the 3rd.LPE wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 7:58 am It will be interesting to see how the club price this.

Think I would go for £15 adults and £5 for kids, certainly no more than that, but hopefully it will be a Saturday game at 3pm.LPE wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 7:58 am It will be interesting to see how the club price this.

I saw the 1st half last week of Derby v Swansea and the Welsh club scored twice in the opening 20 mins and basically pi$$ed all over them, Derby were made to look poor.
They must have improved in the 2nd half as it ended 1-2.

Re: Derby at home
We desperately need money for the Jan window. We have made something like 140 k and the prize for winning in the 3 rd round is another 125k. I would think that if they settle on a £20 ticket that will achieve a full house and £180 k . That kind of money allows us to buy a recognised winger, forward and midfielder. At the moment we have our full quota of loanees so I expect the likes of Hemming, Warrington Dooley and Perkins to return to their clubs. I hope we can keep Keeley and Currie. With Southend fans not wanting Moncur to stay we may have to find him another club as he is our top earner we don’t want to keep paying his wages. At the moment our survival is money orientatedLPE wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 7:58 am It will be interesting to see how the club price this.

You also seem to be under the false impression that
A. The club will use all of the income from this fixture exclusively on January transfer fees
B. Less than £200k is enough for a decent L1 winger, forward and midfielder. That kind of money would barely cover the transfer fee of one of those players, and that’s not even taking into account wages.

In the FA Cup, I thought the money taken at the gate was split 3 ways, a third to the home club, a third to the away club, and a third to the FA, meaning we won't make anything like some above in this thread have indicatedThe Reverend wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 9:12 amNo chance this fixture sells out.moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:51 amWe desperately need money for the Jan window. That’s a very good point. Re: Derby at home
I did not say the gate funds from the Derby match would pay for 3 players. It was the total made from the 3 rounds. I still think that we will get close to a sell out providing the club don’t ask for ridiculous money for tickets. Derby will bring 1200 fans for a sell out in the away end. RW will have the majority of the funds from the 3 rounds plus what is left in the budget. Hopefully we will also send the loanees mentioned back to their clubs to generate more funds. This Jan transfers have got to be good for us to survive in L1The Reverend wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 12:53 pmThat’s a very good point.
