Do we dare do some ratings?
Keeley - 6 - was having a good game until the…unpleasantness
James - 5 - can’t remember him doing anything of
note, other than one overhit pass
Beckles - 3 - looked shaky from the start; poor distribution; poor marking for their first? clumsy penalty concession
Happe - 4.5 - possibly at fault for their first too? Too many wasteful long balls
Currie - 5 - always technically very neat, and that’s about it. Very little attacking threat. Nearly gifted them a goal after a slip.
Brown - 4 - the combination of looking very off-form with the ball and being rather weak off the ball is not a good one
Warrington - 4 - so far I can’t work out what his qualities are supposed to be; didn’t seem capable of receiving the ball under any pressure.
Galbraith - 5.5 - got a little more involved in the 2nd half with some positive movement, but rarely affected the game
Kelman - 5 - occasionally made good darting runs, and then didn’t back himself to reach the ball first or hold onto it
Agyei - 6 - at least put himself about, tried to unsettle their defenders with direct running, and flashed a couple of good crosses in
Perkins - 4 - more or less anonymous
Ball - 5 - initially offered some positive forward passing, and then gradually lost his way
Simpson - 5 - massive miscontrol nearly let them in, flashed a header wide
Cooper - 5 - attacked several set pieces with gusto and should have got his best headed chance on target
DJ - 4 - did nothing
Graham - n/a - poor b*stard :-(
James - 5 - can’t remember him doing anything of
note, other than one overhit pass

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
A little harsh but we were so meh all over. Keeley probably our best player even with the mistake

Very harsh on Omar, especially as the penalty was a great, clean tackle by him

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
A midfield with Brown and Warrington in it will never work - both not good enough at this level.

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
I had a much better view from where I was - and we were all in uproar about it. That said, I accept it looks iffy from here.
Maybe we should introduce VAR?

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
This was the crux of it last night (although I do generally rate Brown and think he's good enough with the right partner). Our midfield 3 competed admirably against their midfield but never got on top of them and dominated play.LeytonOstone wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 10:30 am A midfield with Brown and Warrington in it will never work - both not good enough at this level.
And with Perkins out wide, we're effectively 10 v 11.

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
He also completely lost his man for their first goal and arguably was out of position/lacking anticipation when the ball was played through to Koroma to run in on goal before the penalty.

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
we were right behind it and i thought it was a nailed on pen. we're on the same side near the home dug out so probably had the same view of the ref who was well behind the play. I lost count the amount of times our midfield turned the ball over in the second half. If anyone thinks that score wasn't a reflection of the match then they're deluded. Poor Graham you would think that's the end of his career if he's done his ACL again on the same leg.

I thought koroma was offside when he earned the penaltyProposition Joe wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 10:38 amHe also completely lost his man for their first goal and arguably was out of position/lacking anticipation when the ball was played through to Koroma to run in on goal before the penalty.

He's about 5 yards onside, pause the video on 0:52 and you'll see.
Beckles clumsy challenge on 0:56

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
Miles onside, no issue there.
Beckles did put out a leg but made no contact with ball or player. I can see why the little fat fu*k of a ref gave it from such a long way away, being unable to keep up anywhere near play, the little fat fu*k.
Josh dived. He knows what he did and he knows what he is.

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
Looking at the pen I thought the same as I did last night.
It's a shocker of a decision from the ref. Koroma loses control of the ball and flings himself to the ground, VAR would have given him a yellow.
I would be fuming if it had made any difference to the game...

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
This is more or less right, although I might be more generous to Brown. One thing that struck me last night was when Simpson booted the ball into touch when under no pressure this was met by complete silence by the crowd. When Beckles does that (and he hasn't for a while) it is met with audible groaning.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 11:07 am Quick ratings between acceptable and unacceptable:

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
Simpson's and Ball problem seem to be they were trying to get things going and almost not playing at a natural place and doing silly things, they had the right idea with picking up the tempo, driving the team etc but didn't do it amazingly

Re: Do we dare do some ratings?
I like Brown. He was better than Warrington last night. And I know he hasn't played much of late. But that was Unacceptable IMO.OyinbO wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 1:25 pmThis is more or less right, although I might be more generous to Brown.
