Hi Max. Seems I may be a goner on the forum. The mods finally decided I’m too hot to handle and applied the ultimate sanction, worthy of the Labour Party.
Just want to say I’ve enjoyed our jousts and I really enjoyed your sense of humour. Master of the one liner for sure.
But, alas I have stardards and I will not betray them for what I see as scumbag moderators. So unless they restore my name I will not post. Happy in the knowledge that they resorted to this as the only way they had a chance in debating with me. They have waved the white flag. Shame, I’m always up for a good argument.
Take care Max. Once I log out it will be the end. You will miss me.

Then my opinions won’t really matter. That’s fine. We all make up our own mind on what Governments do. This one is screwing up at a rate of knots and current opinion polls tell their own story. Pitiful. They are incapable of answering a question and it’s embarrassing to listen to. I feel ashamed that they are representing the U.K. on the international stage.

And the thousands of farmers too? It’s not like they work with this 365 days a year and need to manage their finances. Still, some on this forum know best!BoniO wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 1:25 pmHang on. Then you need to research farmers. Having land worth a million is fine. Having outbuildings and equipment worth thousands is fine. But unless the tax man will accept a tractor, a few cows or acres of land in payment then farmers need cash to pay their bills. Asset rich means selling assets to pay bills. That means selling assets or taking out loans. And/or putting up prices or reducing the numbers of casuals employed. Or just selling up.
Luckily the equipment will be covered by the generous business property relief and the farm buildings and land by the agricultural relief.
It's win win for the farmers.

The Tories got their fair share of criticism and much of it justified. They deserved what they got and paid the price at the General Election where we were all able to voice our displeasure.
Thing is Labour thus far are proving to be just as bad. In fact their fall from grace following a massive victory is nothing short of staggering. And record breaking. It’s not really hard to see why. Not worth repeating, we all know.
Now we read borrowing is massively up. Defence spending cut, Royal Mail talking of price increases and job losses. The list just goes on and on. And it’s a long way from finished. Noises coming out that if Labour is to meet is spending targets, more tax rises are inevitable. Of course this is just people talking on the radio.
Labour thus far is a shambles. Big time. Out of the frying pan….

Still, at least they haven’t managed to kill tens of thousands of us by screwing up over Covid like the Tories did, and then lied, lied and lied some more about it.
Re: Labour Watch
Drakeford and Gethin mucked up big time on COVID, here in Wales. So much so that the Welsh Labour Govt has refused to have a public enquiry and just blame the Tories. In Wales here we speak of the Liebour Party.

Re: Labour Watch
Be interesting to see what the Covid enquiry finds. Mistakes were made and that has been admitted. Of course we also started the vaccination program long before others. And lots of people died worldwide. When you look at the data gathering what was apparent was how other countries collated their data and what the included and importantly excluded. But looking at the global statistics and accepting their fragility, we didn’t do too bad.
Do I think Labour would have faired better given the uniqueness of the issue. Look around elsewhere and the answer becomes clearer.
But what is becoming clear on this thread is lots of “look at how bad the Tories were” stuff and a few personal comments. Fine, but that completely misses the point, in fact it simply reinforces my point of what a crap job Labour are doing, all this diversionary stuff being the only comeback.
Labour are just a shambles. What they said, what they are doing. Their response, just blame the Tories. A stock answer because as yet they have naff all constructive to offer. It’s embarrassing, just going on too long.

I’m honestly not aware of how much Welsh Labour screwed up and if that was influenced by central government in Westminster.

Re: Labour Watch
What I find interesting is that some people are so blinded by political ideology their views are very polarised. Tory bad, Labour good. Thats it.
Being blind to the realities of politics is, in my humble opinion, a very dangerous place to be. We all have our preferences for sure but to be so blind to the realities is? Not too sure I can find the right words.
Still, takes all sorts. I much prefer being open to the fact there is good and bad on both sides of the political divide. Tories made mistakes, Labour are fecking up.
