Then you need to research farmers. Having land worth a million is fine. Having outbuildings and equipment worth thousands is fine. But unless the tax man will accept a tractor, a few cows or acres of land in payment then farmers need cash to pay their bills. Asset rich means selling assets to pay bills. That means selling assets or taking out loans. And/or putting up prices or reducing the numbers of casuals employed. Or just selling up.

Luckily the equipment will be covered by the generous business property relief and the farm buildings and land by the agricultural relief.

It's win win for the farmers.

Hi Max. Seems I may be a goner on the forum. The mods finally decided I’m too hot to handle and applied the ultimate sanction, worthy of the Labour Party.

Just want to say I’ve enjoyed our jousts and I really enjoyed your sense of humour. Master of the one liner for sure.

But, alas I have stardards and I will not betray them for what I see as scumbag moderators. So unless they restore my name I will not post. Happy in the knowledge that they resorted to this as the only way they had a chance in debating with me. They have waved the white flag. Shame, I’m always up for a good argument.

Down here in Wales we've had 25 years of wasted money, vanity projects, the poor getting poorer, the NHS in chaos with waiting lists the highest in the UK, poorest education standards in UK, subsidising a failed airport, listening to nobody in Wales, made a hash of COVID and everyone driving around at 20 mph and MS's getting censored for call the 20 mph thing a 'blanket' 20 mph law. Please note - 25 years, not just the past 14 - 25 years of Labour.

Look on the bright side, the devolved government have vowed to make Wales a "racism free nation" by 2030. Hadn't realised racism was such a big problem there.
