What the absolute F#ck was Hemmings doing for that goal?

Re: MK Don's Highlights
What an awful bunch of goals all round
Hemming might as well go back now after that.

Agree, I can’t forgive him for Bolton & Birmingham. Our season would have been so different without him.

Re: MK Don's Highlights
A good reminder, if needed, that Hemming is an absolute liability.
I note Matt Porter on a recent podcast said the two loan keeper situation is not ‘ideal’ and we are working hard to address that.
Presume that means sending Hemming back, alternative is to sign Keeley, but that looks a long shot.

Re: MK Don's Highlights
Brilliant!
Re: MK Don's Highlights
We scored 3 goals, have now progressed past the group stage for the first time since the 2021/22 season, but apart from Perkins (who at least did a little jump after his goal), both DA and CK looked positively underwhelmed at having scored. They don't need to run around with their shirts off but show a little enthusiasm at least for having netted.

Astonished that as many as 200 away fans went to this one. Basically reserve team football.

I think Dave V said the prize money on offer for this competition is more than the League (Carabo or whatever it’s called) Cup.
Therefore important to progress, extra funds plus gives a competitive game for some of the fringe players.
Thought Graham looked much better in his 55 mins last night.

I don’t know if I’m being too harsh but I think Hemming should have saved that shot .

I think you are right, RD1881
Hemming doesn’t seem to save many of what might be termed ‘tricky’ shots, added to the fact he’s made basic errors, that adds up to he hasn’t got a lot going for him.
Keeley, although very young, looks streets ahead of hemming albeit it’s still early days.

The trophy will be a good way for us to get players like JG, DJ and LW upto scratch.PKM wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 1:12 pm I think Dave V said the prize money on offer for this competition is more than the League (Carabo or whatever it’s called) Cup.

In was sitting in the main stand in direct line of view of the shot which was in the top corner and Hemmings had absolutely no chance. Anyone blaming Hemmings for that is biasing their thoughts based upon previous impressions.

Where were you in the ground, or are you basing that on your impression from the video ?Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:40 pmKeeley saves that.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:38 pm In was sitting in the main stand in direct line of view of the shot which was in the top corner and Hemmings had absolutely no chance..

My ‘impression’ from the video?
He should have saved it. It’s there in the video above. Pretty much all the goals he’s let in look saveable if you have a half decent keeper.

Re: MK Don's Highlights
To me it looked like he might have done better. It was from quite a way out, was Hemming in the right position, couldn’t have been too much of a surprise re the shot.
I think Hemming has lost the benefit of the doubt.

Re: MK Don's Highlights
I was sitting in the stand behind the goal and it was eminently saveable even accounting for his poor positioning off his line with them in possession edge of box. The "Closer Look" video gives a better view than the highlights of how saveable it was.

Re: MK Don's Highlights
As I say I was in direct line with the shot, unlike both video streams and fans to the side of the goal, and my opinion is unchanged. Obviously you are entitled to your opinion. With respect to being badly positioned, I think he had more chance of saving it off his line than he would have done on his line in the middle of the goal.

Re: MK Don's Highlights
Being in line behind the goal is different to watching it on TV . I can only go by what I saw on the TV . However you were there so I’ll go with what you said.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:38 pm In was sitting in the main stand in direct line of view of the shot which was in the top corner and Hemmings had absolutely no chance. Re: MK Don's Highlights
I still don’t think I’ve seen him make anything more than the most routine of saves. The amount of soft goals he’s let in is unbelievable. If he’d have jumped, he’d have got that.
Time to send him back, if it wasn’t already.

Re: MK Don's Highlights
Got a very weak hand to it and merely looked like he helped it on its way.
Wasn’t there but a better keeper gets more of a push on the ball to lift it over the bar. It wasn’t that rapid a shot.
Agree with others, Keeley saves that.
