The Tories need to take responsibility for their mistakes of which there were many. Labour need to own their choices. A Tory budget would have been very different to the Labour one. Down to Labour, no one else. They succeed or fail on what they choose to do.

Remember it well. RBS were a major customer of the company I worked for. I recall Brown talking endlessly about a global issue in general when the crash happened. To a degree correct. But what’s good for the goose. Covid, Ukraine, Gaza are equally global. So not only did the Tories have to deal with the mess they inherited, they negotiated Brexit and then had to deal with a string of damaging global issues. So it’s not me whose memory has issues.Bandy Legs wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 10:01 pmOld age must be playing with his mind.Dohnut wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 2:02 pm Find it funny that most people want to blame the last Government for the issues today, yet quite easily forget the absolute carnage inherited by the Tories following Brown being in charge during the biggest boom/bust in our history. Talking costs resulting from global and local issues. Costs that impact ultimately on funds available to Governments. When looking at such things it’s important not only to look at the issues but their impact financially - directly and indirectly.Bandy Legs wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 11:59 pmSo you know about RBS, let's see what you really know then, Sun First Credit Bank.Dohnut wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 10:13 pmRemember it well. How can Sainsbury’s expect to be able to absorb this £140m additional cost when they only make - checks notes - £30 billion per year?
This one's going on the spreadsheet.

Re: Labour Watch
Lammy is genuinely the biggest charlatan out there, not a single honestly held belief in his body, or one that he wouldn't cast off in a heartbeat if it benefitted him, incredible stuff:

Lammy is going to Lammy. But Starmer needs to deal with the fact that appointing Lammy to the role, because of the reasons, is no longer justifiable.

Everything he's ever stood for regarding race relations, reparations, thighs that disproportionately affect people of a shared heritage and from within the local community he's meant to represent...nah, old news. We move on!
