" Trump won everywhere. He's going to win the popular vote. He did better across the demographics. He grew his coalition, better with black voters, Latinos, young voters. The US become less racially divided by party." Ouch.

If I was really squinting my eyes for a glimmer of hope, it'd that overall turnout was down on the last election. Trump of 2024 loses to 2020 vote number wise. The Democrat vote simply didn't vote.

However, 2028 is probably too late for the Democrats to get their arse into gear (if they are even capable of it). The Republicans will likely control every branch of government and use that power to bolt the door closed. Trump could get 2-3 supreme court picks in this term, meaning 2-3 more ultra conservative, young justices. He could put in a hard right massive majority on the court that will exist for longer than most boarders on here will live for.

They - and by extension - we are f*cked.
Silly question. But is the rule that someone can’t have two consecutive terms or two terms total?

That's because we have the wrong party in power .
Well, luckily we have a strong Labour government who will stand up to Trump and his friends and not bend over backwards for them…
We are completely isolated. I don't know what else Labour can do in this situation. We have put up massive barriers with our main trading partner and now our second main trading partner is in the hands of an isolationist who is proposing 10-20% on all imports. The nonsense we were sold about Global Britain is looking like a cruel cosmic joke - we couldn't have timed it worse.
Agree, and it was obvious this would be the most likely outcome even before we voted Brexit. We’ve been part of a Global Economy for decades. The only protection was to be part of a collective. To go it alone was way beyond stupid.

She hasn’t conceded yet, very concerning as a smooth transfer of power is vital to democracy!

For the older boarders and politics/history aficionados on the board.

Time for Kamala to ask how Trump knew he was going to win big at his last rally. The polls were still showing neck and neck. A conspiracy theory in the making and if Kamala states doubts often enough people might believe it. That's how the master operates.

Why don't the goodies have some policies that would actually excite and inspire people?

Neither of them seemed to have any policies at all. Harris didn’t speak of any, and all Trump did was to say “I’ll fix this” and that was it. No plans, no costing, nothing.

Should have said “Fully Costed, Fully Funded”. That strategy seems to be worth a few votes ! Trump has plenty of policies (border wall, legal immigration only, illegals deportation, trade tariffs particularly on China, manufacturing jobs in USA, energy production, reduce gas prices, NATO countries paying their way, No men in womens sport, Peace through strength, extending tax cuts, etc). These policies seem to have won Trump plenty of votes !

As for Harris, well it was just carry on as before. Not what the voters wanted to hear !

I heard on the radio that they reckon 1 on 4 black men voted Republican plus the highest ever number of Hispanics and Asian Americans voted Republican . Not bad for a Nazi , wouldn't you say . :D Of course all those Democrat smears was just a load of old bollocks .
This shouldn't be surprising economic migrants love the concept of shutting the door behind them, so those they left behind don't get the same benefit as them.

I believe the USA accepts over 1m legal migrants every year. I guess that included Nigel Travis at some point. So the message for all those that want to follow in Nigel’s footsteps is fill in the paperwork and wait your turn. Seems fair.

Hahahaha I went to Uni with him. One of those pol-geeks who went straight from graduation to standing as a Cllr until he finally got a seat. Incredible that he's Leader of the Council.
