Trump's victory is worrying. So we may as well make the most of it and have our fun while we can.

Purple hair dye for Lammy?

LOL at the What About Palestine effort. Someone had to do it, I guess.

This analysis may have been credible had turnout been lower. But it increased.

Not Lammy unequivocally saying one thing and then reverse ferreting? Shocked, shocked I tell you.

I’m starting to think basing your entire policy platform and electoral strategy on “vibes” might not be a good idea after all

Love Trump or loathe him, one can never argue with democracy.

Listened to some analysis, consensus seems to be the Democrats had got too out of touch with their traditional working class voters that too many of them voted Republican. The fact Harris and leading Democrats were backing a clearly unfit Biden for a second term until they were found out didn't help them either, just seen as very deceitful.

If this was intentional irony, fair play.

Both parties/candidates had contempt for the electorate, but the Republicans told people what they want to hear, while the Democrats pretty much did the equivalent of Owen Jones failing to understand why a cabbie would not vote for the party he thinks he should vote for

I lumped on Trump last week when odds were still quite decent. He’s going to make me £300 profit when the result is confirmed which I’ll put towards next years Orient League 2 season ticket. Cheers Donald.

I saw that this morning onTV and thought WTF . What was he thinking? It was a stupid mistake this close to the election However, the problem America has is they are both unhinged. I’m glad I don’t live there.
You seemed extremely keen to see him in the Whitehouse like a week or so ago?

And you could certainly never accuse Trump of being deceitful

You can. And he is. But the pertinent thing here is that Trump lies (as well as in many other contexts) to tell people what they want to hear, in a context where people are primed to respond well to it.

The Democrats, and the “progressives” “liberals” etc, are seen by many working class/not wealthy Americans as lying to them about their experiences (again, see Owen Jones’s cabbie)

As bad/sad as the news coming out of America is, a quick trawl through the absolute litany of political 'experts' confidently being very, very wrong lifts the spirits somewhat:

Lammy is deeply unserious.

Maybe if you have a career that could conceivably lead to being foreign secretary, it might be worth only saying stuff about people if you are able to stand by it when it matters?

Hated him since he spread misinformation about a work event I had some involvement with which caused real harm and he ignored pleas to clarify and/or retract. C*nt.

Yeah, I don’t think he was particularly well liked in the charity sector in Tottenham when I was working in it. Though June Sarpong did flirt with me while Lammy was networking, so that was fun.
