I wish RW lived in the real world...

Post by Eggski »

RW interview was again shocking. Apparently when 2 nil up if the fans had cheered more and backed the team it would have been all great. Is this chancer in the real world? Little petty digs on the Os website and bbc highlights about some fans booing. It was crap RW, you set the team up, pick it and set up the so called tactics. The bloke is never wrong... The fans are all wrong in his deluded swollen head.. .. Dear RW , i have been supporting the Os, 50 years, I apologise on your behalf you plank. Fed up with him now , I'm done . !

Your done?
Thank goodness for that.
Does this now mean you’ll give your ‘support’ to another club?
I hope so.

You want to get your ears tested mate, he said the fans should have been able to cheer on every pass at 2 nil but we gave away 2 goals so they couldn't.

You are right in many ways. It was shocking and embarrassing. Saved by the penalties. I wonder what he would have said if we lost? The general silence is deafening. Was speaking to fellow supporters in a Leyton pub last night afterwards. A dire situation, poor team , owners who want out and languishing in the bowels of the league. I doubt if there will be calls for RW to go as there is no real prospect of improving the team this season.

We could improve the team in January but not with Ling calling the shots. NT needs to show him the door. Football is a results-driven sport, NT is too nice a guy.

You are right about NT . I think they are worried about his mental health issues to pull plug on him . Cannot carry on like this. I always felt he should have gone ages ago. The club has moved on from his era.

Really crap boarding from Tuffers there.

Not least because the idea that employers in a competitive environment actually give people with mental health issues any sort of preferential treatment is f***ing ludicrous

Ling has overseen two promotions in the last few years, a couple of transfer windows that don’t work out and the idiots have him driving to Dundee in his bare feet with his bosses thinking “best not sack him in case it makes him sad”

F***wit.

he wasn't digging the fans out - he was saying that the team should have been in a position to allow the supporters to do that, but the "wacky" 5 mins meant that we couldn't. The continual sniping about ML is un-necessary. How many times does the way in which the club recruits have to be explained. It's a collective responsibility - not an individual one.

time to log off grandad - its the FA Cup, you should know more than most that these mad games happen.

It's not great at the moment but it aint that bad jesus. I think we need some perspective, RW is a top gaffer and he has a bit of an edge, i personally think thats a good thing, not some naive young coach who looks like he wants the ground to swallow him up, he looks bang up for the fight and you can see he wants more from the players - and he's not going to throw them all under the bus because he's a good man manager.

"Martin does the signings" was a line directly said by the manager at one point, if the DoF isn't responsible for this side of things what exactly is he employed for?

Funny that the managers get sacked when they're handed sub-standard players in the window (refer to Jackett) but the DoF role is never questioned. Even the Fletcher debacle no questions asked. It seems an untouchable post for some reason.

He actually said that the fans should have been able to chant 'olay' but couldn't because the players kept giving the ball away.

Go and listen to the interview again and you will hear that's what he said.

Of course mental heal issues play a massive part in an employers duty of care these days.

You need to keep up with the real world sunshine.

You think that LO would want that on their conscience mistreating any staff especially someone considered a backbone for the Club like ML.

Only way to exit him would be by mutual consent and financial incentives which I am sure is what he will happily accept if the offer is right.

Can you point me to the relevant bit of employment law that states that employees with mental health issues can only be sacked if they agree to it?

Or failing that, a statistic showing that people with mental health are sacked from their jobs in 0% of instances?

Cheers mate x

Ling was also *literally sacked* from his last management role at Torquay while being on sick leave.

I am not saying that at all. You seem to be getting confused . Any caring employee would consider an individuals circumstances . The club have a duty of care to all employees.

If they decide to say to him they feel he has run his course for the club how about say 50k as a golden goodbye and a bit of a pension for ten years he may rip their arm off.

I think you're misinterpreting a comment there, if it was even ever said.

Your opinion seems to be based on the idea that Ling decides which players are signed and the manager doesnt get a say. This is of course contrary to what the club have said about the recruitment process.
