Good point, he should have left his man unmarked on the penalty spot and gone back out wide to the right back berth.bobo66 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:30 amI'm simply saying that he was no where near and as a right back, I would have expected him to be.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:27 amYou're blaming Judd even though you acknowledge it was Ekpiteta's mistake?bobo66 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:24 am Ling for me. I thought last season he was a liability, but he has started well this season. Of course he can't cross, but as a full back, he deserves the spot.
Where was Judd for Crawley's third goal? The facto that Palmer was completely unmarked was probably Ekpiteta's fault in the main, but I don't think Judd was anywhere near.
Another in the queue for the Ling gloryhole.

I am removing Bob's vote as null and void given his above assessment. He doesn't deserve the vote.

Re: Judd or Ling v Salford
I've watched it back. I really don't want this to be come a Ling vs Judd situation, but if people are going to pick up what they believe to be tiny errors by Ling, then I've got to ask why Judd decided to follow the winger all the way inside when he ad no hope of catching him, and he had moved across towards Coulson. No way should Judd have ended up inside Marvin there.BIGRON wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:29 amAgree Marv should have done better , he doesn't seem to be the same player this seasonCreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:24 amHave you even seen their 3rd goal?bobo66 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:24 am Ling for me. Judd is inside of Marvin marking his own man. I love Marv but that goal was his fault all day long, first with that p*ss poor clearance then letting Palmer drift off the back of him.![]()

I only saw it on the day, perhaps I need to watch the highlights, but have not been able to bring myself to do so. Coulson is covering the left back spot and the near post. Possibly slightly too far beyond the near post but guess he needs to make sure he can attack the player with the ball if needed.
Judd tracks the runner with the ball as he of course should do. After their bloke plays it out wide, he stays with that man. Anyone suggesting he should do anything else if on a WUM. I would argue Judd is possibly too deep and a short ball back to his man would have caught him out, but that's a different argument.

Why are we counting Turley when the poll was Ling or Judd and Turley hasn't played a game yet this season?CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:31 am POLL UPDATE
Judd - 2 (CoSYG, BM)
Son of DOF - 3 (SF, OP, DB) B66 right to vote removed
Turley - 3 (AW, L7, Ron)
Red Army - I'm not sure if you're serious or not with that comment?

Re: Judd or Ling v Salford
What are you talking about- Coulson is playing left-sided centre back. He doesn't track his runner, he slots into Marvin's position as Marvin has had to chase Palmer into the vacant right back position. Anyway, it would all be academic if the 30 had been shown the line and wasn't allowed to drive into the centre of the field past Judd.CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:38 amAbsolute WUM.Red_Army wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:33 amI've watched it back. Re: Judd or Ling v Salford
Crosses, and that is a fair point. That said, We have only scored two goals that has come from a cross this season, and one was by Ling. There was a cross against Stevenage from Ling that Wilkinson should probably have scored from too.
Re: Judd or Ling v Salford
No, I still vote for Ling ahead of Judd. Although you probably won't accept this view.CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:41 amFair enough mate.bobo66 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:34 amI only saw it on the day, perhaps I need to watch the highlights, but have not been able to bring myself to do so. Be careful: in all likelihood, he'll trap the ball very awkwardly, shrink a bit, and then come inside.

Non question. If fit, Ling will start. We all know that. Blue-eyed boy that he is.
