Re: Tory Watch
Two very right wing candidates, & the slightly less right wing one won.
Only 41% of the Tory members voted for her, so I would say they're not too convinced
I think Starmer might be smiling a lot today
To be elected again, the Tories need to move back to the centre ground, because apart from the racist, flag shagging few, most of the electorate prefer their politics not too extreme. A lesson not learned, I would say

Re: Tory Watch
Probably right, the likelihood of Starmer lasting another 4 and a half years is virtually zero.

They need to win back the ex Tory voters that buggered off to Reform. Going further to the right might achieve that. (Which is the whole purpose of Reform anyway).

Re: Tory Watch
...most of the racism directed at Kemi so far has come from the left (Dawn Butler for example).

Not sure why describing Kemi as "representing white supremacy in blackface" is funny but I guess you've seen something in it...

I find an old white man (apologies if I’ve assumed wrong) telling a black woman she’s being racist to another black woman funny, yes.faldO wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 7:27 pmNot sure why describing Kemi as "representing white supremacy in blackface" is funny but I guess you've seen something in it...

What % voted for Starmer at the GE? 31%. 41% looks goodQin wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 1:23 pm Two very right wing candidates, & the slightly less right wing one won.

Out of interest and I doubt I’ll get a serious answer.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 9:40 pmI find an old white man (apologies if I’ve assumed wrong) telling a black woman she’s being racist to another black woman funny, yes.
If Starmer had said Kemi Badenoch was “representing white supremacy in blackface”, would you consider that a racist comment?

22nd
41% in a 2 horse race isn't too good
Starmer had at least 4 other parties, and a ton of independents against him
Remember, almost 60% of the Tory members didn't want kemi, in a2 horse race
The Tory party leadership was a2 horse raceDohnut wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 9:58 pmWhat % voted for Starmer at the GE? 31%. 41% looks goodQin wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 1:23 pm Two very right wing candidates, & the slightly less right wing one won.

Re: Tory Watch
Hodges’ arguments are irrelevant.
The ‘winner’ for any position should be the person who is considered to have the best attributes for the job.
In this instance my constituency MP is not the right selection IMO.

Re: Tory Watch
He so wanted a change from male leadership that he fell on his sword and surrendered his votes.
Yeah right, male, fail and stale sum him up very nicely.
Re: Tory Watch
So racism cannot be called out (or, in my case, reported on, I'm not telling anyone anything), because I "might" be the wrong colour to do so.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 9:40 pmI find an old white man (apologies if I’ve assumed wrong) telling a black woman she’s being racist to another black woman funny, yes.
The bizarre and perverted world of identity politics.
