These two have obviously overstretched themselves . Nobody in their right mind would want that headache at their age. I cannot see how the budget has adversely affected them anyway. They must be mortgaged up to the hilt.

Not sure a budget that will cause higher inflation, increased mortgage rates, and higher unemployment, will do us many favours.BoniO wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 11:03 amI know it’s not simple but I still don’t why you think most will suffer.
Personally, I would have also made much bigger tax demands of the very rich and closed more tax loopholes, whilst increasing the number of bodies in HMRC to work cases. Maybe next time.

Tim Martin looks after drinkers everyday of the year, often with far more than a penny.
Go into most pub chains and it will be hard to identify the penny you save. You have more chance of saving by looking for small change on the floor , most people cannot be bothered to pick up on the way to the pub.
It cannot be ignored that on match days for Leyton Orient and West Ham , the George Wanstead (before it was sold this month) and the Walnut Tree Leytonstone is packed with fans having a few pints and a reasonably priced meal. I would imagine their branch near Mile End is packed too. Stay out of them and cut your nose to spite your face and languish in your myths and hearsay, there will be a spare seat for an appreciative customer.

Are you saying they could have held out and got more from their rapacious venture capital friends for dropping their policy to tax the "carried interest" as income like it should be. Mugs.

As an example I've not seen you mention once Sickle cell anemia. Why because it doesn't affect you in any way shape or form.

CAMRA (CAMPAIGN FOR REAL ALE) are an independent organisation) not connected to Wetherspoons. They are recognised up and down the UK as the ‘Authority’ on Real Ale. They do not issue awards lightly.

You have a choice which is why wage UK is wonderful. Wooster Wetherspoons are very full of happy customers 365 days a year, the employ thousands of people and have save the pub industry in many respects.Stowaway wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 6:36 pmAs a long time CAMRA member I would rather drink my own piss than go into a Wetherspoons and give that cnut Martin any of my hard-earned.Yanzi Gravy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 2:52 pmYou have succumbed to the myth and total lies propagated by competitors. For months Starmer and Reeves have drummed it into us minions that there will be a harsh price to pay for Tory failure NOW but untold riches would materialise just before the next election ...... Yet the link above suggests that the private equity parasites (who produce nothing but cash in from others borrowing dependency) remain largely untouched and wage increases for real people will result in price increases imposed on real people ..... so basically real people will be no better off.

So then we need to ban private schools completely. That will never happen. We are way beyond that making a difference. Ill educated children become ill educated parents who produce more ill educated children. The mistakes in education, lack of funding , can be traced back to the last century. It will take another 50 years to pull it around if changes were made now. Putting VAT on private school education is vindictive
