It’s my belief that it’s Nigel’s fault for not doing his homework with foresight when we were promoted into League 1 in not realising that he would not have sufficient funds for the team to have sufficient budget to progress any further or possibly be relegated.That being the case Nigel should have looked for massive investors s soon as the club were assured points wise of promotion.
We need investors that will sufficiently fund the team for promotion in the very short term and a move to a new ground in the long term.

He's said after winning the National League title if we looked like getting to league 1 investment would be sought. If he's to blame for anything it's looking at the wrong type of financial backing

If that was the case he made a very poor attempt after winning the National League and couldn’t have got the expert advice in that field to make it happen,

Why ? This debacle is down to the clubs board for not backing him properly in the transfer market during the Summer . Going cheap with players like Perkins was never going to cut it .

Not only has the footballing landscape changed in a more general sense in the past 2.5 seasons but its also changed massively in league one. Both were impossible to predict when we raised funds - let alone started dreaming about a new stadium. The only way he could have foreseen such changes was to go visit a gypsy and let her gaze into a crystal ball.

At the risk of sounding dumb, how would we know the budget of other clubs? Surely this is commercially sensitive information. I get we might find out afterwards when reporting is complete, but not beforehand. What am I missing?

I've never written a Buisness plan for a Football Club & neither have you. Any Smallish Buisness that loses £4 million pound a year is going bust IRL.

Football is very different, Your slightly Condescending post that claims I've never owned a buisness that has limited customers which can only bring in limited funds, while competing against 23 competitors with many having better financial positions than ours & have no authority to speak on whilst excusing others who state

Raised what funds since getting promotion to League 1, where are they ?
It was obvious as soon as we had enough points to be promoted to League 1 that we would need a massive investment to get the quality of players needed to progress , that wages would go up considerably, that buying the quality of players needed would cost considerably more.That a new stadium would be needed with a much bigger capacity if the club wanted to compete at a higher level, it really should have been no surprise it’s not rocket science.
The optimum time to get massive new investors on board was when we new that promotion to League 1 was a certainty.

I think you might have got the wrong person as I haven't called anybody stupid. I mean you've literally answered your own Question " I guess we find out at the end of the season".
See you take last years figures, add 6 new clubs, factor in crowd size & pricing & you can literally project the budgets. I just finished off what you had already said & that the question didn't need to be asked at the next Q&A. Nothing to do really with your statement , but to question something that was pretty muched explained by Marshall Taylor not long ago.

Marshall explained it perfectly here. Clubs exchange info, data is used (previous budgets) so on & so on.
